Cobalt vs 1.8T Jetta

I'll just make this short. I walked over to this kids house kicked his dog and stole his beer. I think a civic I raced before this did better. I even let the guy get the jump. Then I just pulled. I didn't think they were that slow. He had a cannon on the back and it was pretty low.

Mods: 21 Trifecta, Hahn intake, Catless DP, Turbo XS FL...

I expected to win. I thought maybe for like 5 or 6 seconds it was gunna be close then I just pull and move out. I just punched it and flew by. I didn't expect that. I still have yet to run a 2v Mustang. the LSJ would edge them out. I want to see what the LNF does.

I thought this was a 2.2 vs 1.8. A turbocharged cobalt is just stupid cause it's not much of a race.

But the 1.8 is a turbo engine but it still makes barely any hp stock. Wonder what it could do with a tune though.

From what I hear, they need a bigger turbo to make any real power. But I'm not a VW guy much so don't quote me.
I had beaten a lightly Modded one with my old SVT Focus with light mods though. So I've seen how slow they are...

There's two Jettas by me that make me smile. One's fully stanced to the point I believe he's polishing off the wheel arches.

The other is an all-white-and-gangsta-tinted piece that brags about his oversized turbo via a huge graphic. He was trying to entice me to run in the middle of a light rain. Something tells me he won't have a car for much longer.....

I raced a 1.8T in my 98 cavalier Z24 auto and beat it. My g5 will beat the 1.8T like its not even moving an also can take down a VR6.

VW lost its way in the performance segment. Even the new golf R is a disappointment. $37k gets you a low 14 sec car. Terrible.

vr6 may be slow stock, but you can make 500whp reliably stock internals and head, nothing but a head spacer.

monster of an engine and sounds amazing.

Stock for stock I think they are slightkly faster than a TC.

Stock, the R's and GTI's run with TC's. I roughed up some various vee dubs on GMS1 alone. That's sad if a crappy factory mod is all it takes to push one back a couple of cars. I'd argue GMS1 is "stock". I haven't come up against one that will hold in a 40 roll.

They're certainly "prettier" cars than 'balts. And I don't doubt that you can build one to be peppy. But price to performance, they're duds.
