Cobra Vs. C5
Merging from one Interstate to another last night on my way home I spot the unmistakable 4 circular tail lights ahead of a Vette. From the distance I couldn't tell if it was a C6 or C5. I speed up and as I'm coming up to him I realize that it's just a C5, and I'm a little bummed after having tried to bait 2 different C6's into racing earlier with no luck.
As I go by I give him a rev just to see if he wants to mess around but he just holds the same speed. So I just continue on my way and leave him be. Go around a couple curves and as I'm coming up to another here come a pair of headlights flying up to me and guess who? It's the C5!
So I drop to 3rd going through the curve and as soon as we hit the straight (which is a slight downhill slope as well) he nails it. I knew this was gonna be bad for him, I have him in power, and going downhill my extra weight will actually start to help me.
I follow suit and nail it, He had got his front wheel in front of my bumper with the hit but within a couple seconds his front bumper was at my rear. A car and a half ahead I powershift to 4th and see a reflection of a flash off the front of his car which was surely a couple flames shooting out my tail pipes, I let out at the top of 4th doing about 135ish and I'm a few buses ahead.
I slow back down to cruising speed and he comes by giving me a thumbs up which I return, although I'm sure he didn't see it. He then exits and I proceed home. I give him credit for trying despite having seen my license plate beforehand.

470-500whp depending on the tune. If the blower's ported he could be in the 490-520whp range. And the tq should be 10-30 over whatever his whp is.

the reason i was askin is because yestarday i ran a friend he has a 04 cobra with what i stated before and from a 40 roll he jumped on me while i was spinning and he had about a car or less on me. His jump is crazy. we tried again i brake boosted and still no luck due to spinning he wouldnt give me my 60 roll. ill get it eventually. (Not trying to thread jack dude) but thanks for telling me since he hasent dyno and i havent either lol

ehhhhhh, no not really. A C5 barely weighs more and still has a LNF pretty good in whp. An aggressive tune will beat one, or a bigger turbo.

Was this car a C5 Z06 or... just a C5?
I only ask because your Cobra with NO modifications, would absolutely, without question, destroy a C5. That C5 could have Jesus behind the wheel, and it would stand no chance, at all. Ever.
I have beat a half dozen C5's with my old 3900lb, fwd, Pontiac GTP. With a bad tranny. That car made roughly 250hp/320ft-lbs. And my GTP could only hang with a blowered Cobra until 60km/hr, then it was over. Which, coincidentally, was about when the Cobra got traction. :P
