So works over on my way out of the parking lot and i look behind me...my supervisor is behind me in his audi. I believe it's a '01 maybe '02 s4. I'm not really sure on the specs on the car honestly never asked but wow did he kick my ass. Pulling off the light and making the turn i went first he follows i was already to the floor and he walked me like i was standing still...all i could hear were the turbos...anyone have any clue what kinda power those things are putting down...i'm curious now but he's on vacation for two weeks so i figured i'd check here...btw i knew it probaly wasn't gonna be a race...i just have the base cobalt but i didn't think i'd get killed that bad

 

stock VS stock they are even with cobalt ss/sc's and srt-4's

 

Msn auto reads them having a 2.7L v6, 250 hp @ 5800 rpms, and 258 lbs of torque at only 1850 rpm...wow!

 

the newer s4's will eat our ******** and then some...they are ridiculous. the older ones are **** though, only 250hp...new ones are 340hp...talk about an asswhopping

 

I would rather have an older 250HP one. It is not that hard to get them up 400 HP ish.

If I am understanding correctly the Audi S4's had those little flags next time them signifying they were the performance version correct? If so, those aren't nearly as fast as you think stock. Granted a few bolts ons for either car and it's fun They just weigh a lot. That's what hurt them.

 

My friend has a 2.8L A4 and hes swapping in the S4 engine (2.7 biturbo) so we've talked about the S4's quite a bit. Stock they're quick but not that outstanding, but they respond very well to mods. I think chip alone is good for like 40hp. With bigger turbo's the car is a beast, heavy but fast.

 

S4 are really fast!! drove one they go pretty damn good

BTW i am talking about the 240HP 02 V6 S4 not the 340 HP V8

 

My friend has an S4 and their right: with a few mods those things are beasts! You can chip the engine and get that thing around 400hp. The S4 is heavy as hell stock but still moves pretty good and will beat an ss s/c by a little in the 1/4. As much as Audis break down though don't be surpised if the thing breaks while youre racing it. Watch out though they're rare but you can easily run into an RS4 that would kill our cars.

 

last friday I got my ass handed to me by a new S4.......I pretty much knew what was gonna happen, but what the hell.....gave it a shot.
He walked me pretty steady till fourth gear....after that......well I don't really want to talk about it....lol

 

i am curious does anybody really expect to hang with a car that about $25,000 more than our car? If i spent almost $50,000 on an audi it better whip the poo out of a 21,000 dollar cobalt SS.
i dont count STI or EVO in the same class as our cars. if you spend 35k it better walk us.
just me but i only compare price ranges that why i feel dollar for dollar it cant get to much better then my SS/SC.
just my opinion.

I heard an A6 the other day on the street..Sounded like a muscle car lol It was funny hearing a V8 Audi with loud exhaust.
