Domination By Gn

So I'm sittin at this light when a dead black car pulls up next to me. Totally blacked out. Rims, tint, you get the picture. So I glance over and first think it is a late 80's monte carlo ss. Then it revs on me. I hear the very LOUD whoosh of a turbo. Hol sh*t. A f**kin Grand national. I sit up straight and get ready for battle. I'm runnin stage 2 w/ soild trans and motor mounts, GMPP catback, Hurst shifter, Stage 2 clutch and drop in K/N. I got BFG KDW2s on smaller 17inch wheels. I can launch my car pretty good so I feel confident at going up against a legendary hot rod. The light changes, that beast launches, in a split second it's like 6 bus lengths down the road and gone. I did'nt even get to 65 mph and the buick was outta sight. That was the fastest street car launch I've ever seen. Totally sick. *DAMN*

Sounds like it was fun. I like when people posts their deaths on here. Too many people posting questionable wins.

Been killed by a lot of GN's in my life. Not so scared of them anymore. They're usually all launch and no top end.

I'm scared of it. I can't put into words how violent and fast this big car moved.

Gn's ain't no joke, Thats what I"m looking for to do on my next project. They're just soo damn expensive. But I do have an 84 monte that wouldnt mind a turbo 3.8 swap.
But by far my favorite american car of all time. Looks like your grandpa's car, bench seats, and runs 12's stock

I think the late 80's monte's SS are so cool. Would LOVE doing an LS2 swap into one.

that's what I"m torn btwn now, I might have an ls1 t56 combo with wiring harness given to me if my friend goes through with his turbo 408 auto swap. I already have a built 406 bottom end chillin in my friends garage for the monte and a t76 turbo. But I might want to do something different with this one

personally. I would just buy a regal t type.. it is not as fast, but similar potential for about 1/4 the cost.

I love the 3800. They've been solid engines since the GN. They make power easy, love mods, and really love forced induction. Too bad they can't make a trans for it that it doesn't destroy, either in turbo or supercharged form. I've decided to take a 3800 Series III and stick it in a 72 Nova. Just trying to figure out what trans to use.

I think in either 79 or 80 there was a monte that had the 3.8 turbo, but with a carb lol
