ok, well I gotta post this since it's pretty funny. but here goes my dumb races.

2001 mustang v6 with I/E auto
Ok so I drop my buddy off at the dorms on base and this guy is cleaning the inside of his pretty orange mustang. I walk up to him and talk to him for a minute. I tell him he has a nice car and whatnot and he's all like, "thanks man, I try to keep it clean." anyways, So I ask him if he wants to race for a tank of gas. He says sure. So he follows me off base and we get out on the highway on the way to my house. There is a gas station like halfway, so it was perfect. I tell him to start from whatever gear/rpm/launch whatever so that he can have the advantage. well he didn't care, so we went from a 40 roll, haha, and it was just too easy. I pull away rapidly, like the star ship enterprise, haha. and then slow down, roll down the window and I'm like, "gas station is right here." so he fills up my tank and we go on our way.

2003 eclipse v6 5speed stock
my buddy just bought this car and says his 3rd gear is killer. I'm like yea whatever, I know some cars that you might be a good run in with. He says he wants to race me. I'm like that's a waste of gas. He says he'll race for a tank of gas, somehow I always get in a race for a tank of gas and I'm empty, so I get a free tank. YAY for me! lol. anyways, I bite, so we get out on the highway again and you know how it goes, "Warp 4" and we are pullin off the next exit and I literally make him stand there and put the gas in my car. lol. Funny as hell. anyways, he's all talking about all these mods he's gonna get for it now and I'm like, yea ok.

most recent race, today
2007 civic si 4-door Injen CAI, Apexi full exhaust, 6 speed
nice car of course. I hear him coming down the road, I'm at the dealership in town talking to the guy that sold me my car, he's kind of my buddy now. anyways, this civic was loud as f#$% but it sounded pretty mean. I chase him down and ask him if he wants to go at it. Of course he says yea and I'm like, "tank of gas?" lol. He says sure. So we go from a 40 and I let him beep it off and I let him get the jump, but I guess the ole 'bolt was just too much, cause I pulled away at about warp 2.5 this time. basically, when I shifted to 3rd, I was about 2.5 cars on him already and still pulling. But man his car was LOUD and sounded very mean. too bad mean doesn't equal fast. lol. so we come up to a redlight. I wanted to go from a stop, but I didn't want to hurt his feelings that bad, so we roll off the light, I tell him to go, he punches it and then I punch it, so he already had a fender on the intial jump, but even with him changing gears 15 times it seemed like, it was no match for the mighty stock ss s/c. lol. I put several cars on him up to about 80. pretty sad really. I thought it would be a better race. Now I did notice that he absolutely sucked at shifting, but I tried to compensate for that by letting off when I heard him miss shift and then punching it again when I heard it back in gear. lol. Didn't really help him that much. oh yea, so we pull over at the gas station ahead and he fills up my tank, which was at about a 1/4. So it only cost him like 25 bucks to fill it up. I told him he was lucky I didn't have less gas. lol. I got his number and stuff though and he said he'd come hang out with me and my boys next time we go out.

all in all, I've been very bad and I keep taking people's money. oh well, gotta fill up the gas tank somehow in the gas crisis right?

man no one wants to race me where i live except the big boys like corvettes, chargers, evos, wrx, and im no match for them. they would put 100 cars on me.

 

If you have an SS S/C you're probably more than a match for a WRX. They aren't rocket ships by any stretch.

by the way, I know that the ss s/c isn't the fasted car in the world. I'm actually used to being in a faster car. a.k.a. my talon tsi awd. but these cars were just too easy of prey and it was really like a rocket ship compared to them.

yea, it's pretty fun and easy to make a run or two for a tank of gas. Most people don't think about it being 20-30 or more dollars since it's just gas. But a free tank of gas is a nice little trophy for a quick win. plus you get to keep money in your pocket. When I start to get down to a quarter tank, I'll just look for someone that looks like they'll race and go from there. I USUALLY don't even have to fill up my own tank. But sometimes, I don't find anyone and so I gotta pay for it myself.

That is some funny sh#$!!! Keep up the good work. If people are stupid enough to race you in the first place then they deserve to pay for your gas. It will teach them to never underestimate a Cobalt again.

Ive never seen someone compare theire car to the "Star Trek Enterprise" before, and use "it was like mach 4 speed".....very original.


i "raced" some dude today for $50.....and he turned the other way so he didnt have to pay me.
