It's my friend's car (edited OP to show that) but it's a Yank SS4000. It's not as big as it sounds. I've driven the car around a bit, and it really isn't bad. I'd rock it for a daily, but I'd probably go just a hair bigger if I was building a weekend toy.

You know, I lurk this site since I'd like to get an SS/TC for a daily, and I've seen stuff about the TVS, but I just forgot about that option. haha.
Off topic ramble- maybe spring or summer '12 I'll end up in one. I want to get back in an F-body though, but that'll get sold the minute I graduate from college for a C6 so I wouldn't be wasting money if I bought the SS/TC. We'll just see how it all pans out.

nice runs! i say if the ion had a nice agressive tune he would had given a better fight, but still the ls1 would had taken him. not by that much though. and i would like to get a run against that slow ls1 too

I think it would easily need another 30+ hp to keep up. The Camaro was just on the dyno last week, I don't have a pic of his graph but it makes within 10hp of peak power from 5100 (where the converter flashes to when you put your foot down, so the start of a race) all the way to 6700, so the Ion need more than just a few extra ponies to compete with that. As always, it's not about peak #s, but what it does the entire powerband while in a race.
its my ion and ya with a retune it would be closer but brendon would prolly still when. if i go tvs or p&p head springs and cams it would be a diffrent story but thats a ways away.
It's an ongoing thing that's been going on from last year. He races a lot of LS1s. 
It all started with these 2 and this "race" where the Camaro guy said he was in it for just a couple seconds when the Camaro was stock.

So they lined something up on a local forum after the Camaro added a few mods (and someone backed into him), Camaro wanted a dig, Ion wanted the typical 40 roll, so they did both.
Camaro- auto, lid, headers, dumped Y, stock 2.73 gear, untuned (2.73s are what made it a total turd, my car beat him from a roll by 4+ cars)
Ion- same mods as now

So I decided to race him that same night with my car just to see the difference. He said "I want every advantage I can get" so I gave him his roll, a total deadspot for me, and I took a 200lb passenger and he refused to take one.
My Camaro- 6 speed, lid, ls6 intake, headers, true duals, 3.73s, tuned

Then another friend bought a car and wanted to race him to see how he'd do against a basically stock LS1.

Then the Ion complained about heatsoak so they went out and did it again...

Forgot to add this in...he made an appearance and ran a way faster car (we set him up as a joke) and then he ran the guy with the red Camaro who at this time owned the black G8.

Then the Camaro added some mods, Ion got his intercooler pump working and then you got the race you see in the OP.

Just spray it, that's what I told Jake to do. HP + cold air, can't go wrong. My buddy's old Terminator picked up over 75rwhp and almost 100ft-lbs from a 50 shot.
First off you need to add im on stock clutch with 94xxx miles and far from stock power. main reason i diddnt want to do digs was because my clutch slips which you can hear in the dig vid and the race with you wasnt a 40 it was a 30 u wouldnt give me the 40 said it was to bad for you and you wanted a 25 and we settled at 30 with me in second. the first vid with me and kyl that was after racing 3 other people which i have the vids and with my pump not working and the only reason we reraced was because kyle was **** talking saying he walked me in that first race when he clearly diddnt. the only vid with my intercooler pump working is the first one u listed at the beginning. I would spray it but i have 94xxx miles i feel like i would brake something right away and i have to still get a new clutch before anything only reason i havnt yet is because i have other bills right now and the clutch only slips when i launch from a stop and on some 20 rolls. just getting the story straight before u make me look like an ass.

People spray cars with much higher mileage than that. It's all in the tune. A retune on a 50shot would wake your car up and be very safe, shouldn't have to pull any timing for such a small shot. The clutch is a good reason to not do it though.
For further proof our race was a 40 roll, look at the amount of time it takes you to shift from the start of a race. Against Brendon, we were both laughing as we lined up about you not wanting anything but an EXACT 40 roll, not 45, not 43, no 41 but 40. So that was a perfect 40 roll. In that race, you take 3 seconds to before you shift to the next gear; against me, it's the same thing. It was a 40 roll....but who cares?!
