Same with my 2Ga talon...Im still on the DSM boards and people still think that they are reliable cars if you take care of them. Which simply isn't true. they were fast for back in the day but something is always broken on them no matter how well you take care of them. they were just made with cheap parts.

I built a forged 6 bolt bottom end with a 2g head, evo III 16g, and had a shep trans and it was very reliable. Had no problems with it and pulled like a raped ape.

Gearing is different in the LSJ transmissions. 4.05? I could be mistaken.

2nd can get me up to...a tad over 70 with a 7200 redline (shift at 7)

I did the hole "RICE-BURNER" it's was cool back in the day. The cop love them just cuss they can f*%k with you, more so here in Cali. got stopped all the time, pop the hood Sr.. They can look cool and sound cool, but it's for high school kids. sold it in 2004, to some kid, i told him good luck. and waited for the "Bolt and, i love it" it's actually fast.

I have a gen3 and stock for stock they run right with a stock 99gst and will slowly pull on a gsx. The v6's don't respond as well to mods. But overall they are a much nicer car. I've owned 5 or so actual dsm's btw. The v6's with a 6g75 swap and supporting mods roll out pretty nicely. And now there's a 3.7 awd swap gen3 and a couple of others running around. But sadly stock they are a very high 14 second car if its a 5spd coupe, don't discount the newer ones it always takes a while for them to trickle down. Also the 4 cylinder ones can use a good amount of EVO parts and respond nicely to those parts.

Had a bet with this kid I worked with. He was talking mad **** about cobalts and called me out to the track. I was gm stage 1 at the time and he had a b18 swap or k20 I forget? with a built head, fueling and a jJackson racing supercharger. The bet was if he won I would write I love Honda's on my car and if I won he would write I love cobalts... Name: IMAG1601_zps67f17fa4.jpg

I miss my 94 eclipse, was slow as molasses but I liked it. Had it a few months then traded in for a 03 zx3. I remember one day I was just about to my driveway and to **** off a neighbor(bought car with a fart cannon on it) I drove past and gave it hell. As I turned into my driveway it stalled and would not start. I just thought "yep, been waitin for this." A week later I was about to go buy some expensive parts that we thought was the issue(cannot remember now) and I was looking in the bay and it caught my eye, a freakin connection came lose because of the vibration from revving high. Plug in, fired right up. Was alittle mad, could not believe I missed it 5 times.
