Decided to go meet up with by buddy who has an evo, down at a spot called mexico. hung out for awhile, and then we decided to run from a 40 roll. We both took off, ended up losing by a car. The evo is tuned, cams, intake, exhaust, made 400 i believe is what he told me. At the end he gor out and was like man that thing is moving. All the cobalt has is hpt gms1.
After that we were on our way home, a new audi with the led lights in the back, it was boosted since you did hear the stock blow off on it, but he pulls up with the paper tag on it. We go from out of the hole and he ended up losing by like 3/4 cars, he was embarrassed to pull up next to me after, he just turned at the next opening. Pretty surprised how this car pulls, definitely awesome, cant wait for a retune, and a downpipe.

Evo's on stock turbo can do 400 pretty easy with a damn good tune, I know I had 2 friends that had them
But if he did have 400 and you were right there then you have way more then the GMS1 puts down 270ish to 280ish
Or the Evo just didnt know how to drive that 400

its possible hes putting down less, i just remember hearing him say 400 one time, and another time with a different mod he had before he was putting down 360, but he was only 1 car ahead the whole time, and all i have is hpt gms1 and a drop in filter. I mean his car definitely pulls hard cause ive been inside of it, i figure i would of got beat badly, and when we ran that was the outcome, even he was surprised. Doesnt really make sense since the last car he beat was an isf with intake and exhaust, which is a mid 12 second car, and mine is low to mid 13 second depending on conditions.

probably was the a5 , had the long leds taillights i remember reading about it at the surgeons office, i remember they were only tested at like 14.2 stock, i just found that funny, a litte rich kid with a 50k car, lost.
yeah i thinking about picking up the downpipe and getting a retune soon, and then i want a re-run against the evo, to see how much of a difference it made.

Well considering you only lost by 1 car with the GMS1, I'm almost positive you will pull a decent amount with a dp and a protune
I'd rec. getting a zzp catless dp, best IMO, and getting a tune from Term. since your down in FL. but thats just me

i mean i was talking to him and a friend before we ran, and even they said evo's are horrible from rolls, since they do have more drivetrain loss, I mean if it was from out the hole then that would of been a different story, or hes just making less power than he said, but he definitely has intake exhaust tune and cams, but i have seen videos of a cobalt with just a tune, and an evo with mods lose so i dont know.. But when i get a retune ill go to term, since hes only like 3 hours away.
Yeah you obviously know the outcome of doing a dig with him..
But I'd say with the GMS1 keeping up with a evo with full bolt ons and cams is pretty damn good
Keep us posted when you run again when you get your protune

I'm sorry but if he had the mods that he said above then it very well could have had close to 400

, but we can try to find one for you.
and ill keep an update once i get a dp and a retune from term... and its gms1, just hpt version since its cheaper.

+1
400 doesnt come easy on the stock turbo no matter what year Evo with only cams. MAYBE with cams and all other supporting mods on a happy dynojet but im still willing to bet you need E thrown in there as well. Maybe you are seeing graphs from a stock framed upgraded turbo such as the green/red/black/dom 2 ect...

Very few evos with stock 8 or even 9 turbos hit 400+. Most get close, but not many actually eclipse that mark, on a "normal" dynojet. Numbers dont matter anyway, its track times that will truely measure power. Now, add an FP turbo or modified 8/9 turbo in that equation, then its easier to pass that number. Meth put me over 370whp with EVERY other bolt on on a stock 8 turbo and a good tune.
I know a kid around here that has a 9 with every bolton kelford 272s and meth that did 393whp so its not impossible to hit 400's
I know he had meth but still it's not impossible
Evo's are quick dont get me wrong but they're so overrated
Balt will be victorious when adding a dp and a protune
sub'd for vids to follow
