Finally raced my Mustang from a roll!!
Finally raced my Mustang from a roll!!
So my Wife and I were heading out to Chilis for dinner. My Brother was with me in the Balt and my Cousin was with my Wife in the Mustang. We are on this 2 lane road that connects the 2 main roads in our City. There was no traffic at all at this time and figured we might aswell try the roll race. We both downshift to 2nd at 40mph and my Brother tells her to go, so she goes, I go, by 100mph I'm up 4-5 cars. She shut down at 100mph because she hates speeding that fast anyways, but knew I wanted the race done. All in all I'm happy with my Balt, now I just to get some DR's or something so I can race it from a dig at the track.

Havent been to the dyno with either one. But from the numbers others are putting down with their SS/TC's, I figured right around 300whp and 320wtq or so. And from what others are putting down with their 3v's with the same mods, probably around 300whp and 320wtq. I believe both cars are putting down similar numbers, but the turbo and lightweight of the SS/TC I believe that is why it beat my Mustang. From a dig my Mustang still wins mainly because of traction issues the Cobalt has.
Nice man!!! I've always wanted to do that too,but for me I think it would be like 4-5 lengths in favor of the Slowbra, from a roll that is,no point in going from a dig haha,of course my 'Balt has no where near 300whp either.Either way good kill lol.
I wouldnt mind having an 01 Cobra, but if I was gonna get a Cobra it would be an 03/04. And the 3v GT's are just as fast if not faster than the 99/01 Cobras stock for stock, and my GT isnt stock anymore.
I want a Kenne Bell!!

I just got the new road and track and they tested the new 2010 gt500,now with 540 hp and better[3.55] gears.0-60 4.6 sec,1/4 mile 12.9@113,how the hell did they do that, not even stock '03-'04 times. They claim they even had a ford driver drive it,complete B.S.
ROFL only a 12.9 that sucks dude. they probably have some skinny ass tires in the back that don't hook up worth a **** too. and that's one of the reasons why the Zo6 owns it. hey everyone PM that mod who locked the "dominated an RSX and STi today" thread and tell him to unlock it for me please. i gotta say some stuff in there. =D and everyone who was bitching which is better STi or Cobalt SS/TC stfu please. Well I am glad it was done. Its would have been 4-10 Bus lengths if you would have gone to 150.
I am glad you are now a believer. A few months ago, I remember you telling me, it was impossible that I beat my friends 07 GT with exhaust.

Just give Evan Smith the damn keys and he will go low 12's guaranteed. Most 03/04 Cobras were tested at like 12.7 or so and Evan Smith ran 12.2 I believe stock.

He ran a 12.25@117 in a stock '05 GT500, IIRC. So, 40 more hp w/ a better suspension, etc, it should be knocking on the door to 11's with *great* driving, one would think.
Thanks for helping me out with that. I knew he got each car to run like 1/2 second faster than most.
He's done the same for many other cars as well.
'03 Mach 1: 13.1
'01 Bullitt: 13.5
'99 Mustang V6: 14.9
LS1 Camaro: 12.9
'99 GT: 13.7
...the list goes on.
Do you know what he ran in a 3v? I know a guy on Mustangforums ran a 13.2 stock, just seeing if Evan did the same or not.
Off the top of my head, I seem to remember him not doing THAT much better than Motor Trend's 13.5. Meaning, he didn't blow it away with a 12.9 or something. I want to say it was ~13.3 or so.
Oh ok. Either way, a 13.3 and a 13.5 is pretty good. Most people around here seem to think they are about a flat 14 second car.
You are right, the mustang has tons more potential. But one thing it doesn't have is the "I can't believe I just got stomped by a cobalt" factor.
Not in a straight line maybe (although, someone in an SS/SC might have a similar thought if I ran with one in my *V6* Mustang), but I certainly expect some Porsche's and BMW's to give me the ::whaaaaat?:: face when I'm finished building my open-track Foxbody Mustang with a 2.3L Turbo I-4 and Independent Rear Suspension.
