SRT-4>SS/SC, Homos....(selfinfliction, CodySS)

 

selfinfliction..The harley davidson f-150 was not a SVT product. Whoever put that badge on their truck is a poser.

 

who gives a **** man... everyone already knows the srt is faster than an ss.. how many times do you need people to tell you that? i can write a a screensaver for you that will type out "srt is the greatest car on the planet and nothing will ever beat it" millions of times if you would like.

the srt thing is for real getting old, they should just delete this entire area and maybe the trolls will stop coming and the srt owners that actually contribute information and such could just post around in the other areas of this forum

I go to Raceway Park every now and then. to watch my buddy auto x, and there are a couple of Lightning’s that are there on a regular basis. You'll know if you’re racing one, because the supercharger is ridiculously loud, I mean so loud you can hear it from more than 1/4 mile away.

I don't believe that either truck is stock, but I have seen them run very close to 12 flat. As it was explained to me, for about a 1g in mods you can turn them into very consistent 12 second cars. Just as simple as a pulley set, a few other toys, and an ecu reprogram.

Moral of the story? Don't mess with trucks that say SVT, unless you enjoy an ass kicking. My friend actually raced one at EVO v STI day, and lets just say I'm still teasing him about it. "Guy dusted you off, and after this he's going to Home Depot to pick up some 2x4's and a toilet."

 

13.1 is crazy fast for a stock one. I was surprised myself when I beat him too. It's a good thing I had a passenger and a few friends following me for proof.

those superchargers are insanely loud on the lightning, i saw one race a 2001 SS camaro, the camaro won....but not by a crazy amount

well, it has an SVT engine in there, doesnt have the signature plate, but its still the same exact engine as a svt lightning, except for slightly different pulley size

The lightnings are kind of an odd performance vehicle. I've seen a local truck (some mods) run mid 13's trapping in the 95-98mph area. I don't have the timeslip where I ran him, but IIRC, his times looked very similiar to mine up to about the 1/8 mile, where the "flying brick aerodynamics" took over and slowed him down. IIRC, he hit about 80mph in the 1/8 mile on the slip I had, gaining about 16-17mph on the back half of the track, whereas I (modified) hit 82mph, gaining 22-23mph on the back half.

 

OK please don't read into my original post that I said my Denali beat a Lighting. I clearly stated that it was a 2wd single cab F150 and was NOT a Lightning but it did have SVT badges on it. I believe selfinfliction (the originator of this thread) was ALSO questioning if the truck he came across was true Lightning! Neither of us claimed to beat a Lightning but are wondering (me atleast) if FMC is sending trucks to SVT for slight upgrades NOT the full Lighting treatment. The truck I came across sounded better (ran better too) and had a slightly lowered stance. It was more then just SVT badges but how much more I guess is my question. Is Ford making a SVT truck that's NOT a Lighting?
Oh yea I'll save someone the trouble... My Denali got beat by SRT-4 once! So I guess I "beat ya!"

i made the post to try and find out about some info about the lightnings cause i wasn't sure what kind of truck was being raced and it's turned into ****.

 

Ok, the HD F-150 was just an appearance package until '03, when the blower was put into it. It's a 5.4L blown V8 like the Lightning, but it doesn't have the SVT upgrades (lower compression pistons, upgraded bottom-end, intake manifold), but instead is the basic corporate motor with the supercharger.

BTW, a used '03 still goes for over $30k

 

looked up the 03 ford lightning w/ 30,000 miles and it came up to $25,650 in excellent condition on kelley blue book.

False performance numbers? I can back up every single one of my personal claims with a timeslip. Where's your proof. Oh that's right, YOU DON'T HAVE ANY PROOF. There's no proof that you're even a real person vs some "made up" fantasy of some 15 yo Magazine Racer.

We are going to throw a pulley on his Lightining tonight and we are going to take it to the track this weekend. He also bought some wheels and some DR too.

Any guesses on performance
- Predator tune
- Borla muffler
- Pulley & tensioner upgrade from RPM Outlet

This will also be the last track visit for my Camaro too.....

 

uh nooooooooo the lightnng has a 360 hp 5.4liter supercharger v8 and they run around the mid 13 range but if dude raced him from a roll i think it would be close but i dont belive he beat him by 5 cars.
