G8 vs 08 ss/tc

Well, I was on my way home from a cobalt meet on firday and on the way home.... a 08 maybe 09 G8 pulls next to me and takes off. I'm like come on dude its a highway but he did it again and I was getting a little tight that this dude was pretty much being a DB to me lol. So I pulled up next to him going about 75-80 and I put it into 3rd and i guess he heard my engine get louder from the rpm difference and he took off. About the same time I got on it too. Way surprising enough I pulled about only a car maybe 3/4 of a car on him, maybe coulda pulled more if I no lift shifted but I did a normal shift into 4th. It was about 1:30am and no other cars were around, I was going around 130 so I let off it, he kept going till out of site, after that I never saw him again. My guess is he was pissed his heavy POWERFULL car lost to a cobalt, STOCK cobalt by the way. I know it was the V8 model because his License plate stated so, I am not going to give his away but I don't think he was lying lol. V8 at like 380hp at 4,000 pounds vs 260 at 2,900 I won lol I know I know racin is bad and I rarely do it but when no ones around, someones diggin under your skin, and open road.....why not just to shut him up.

G8's are nice

the new GXP will have 415 hp.

should run out pretty good,

but you are right they, like many new cars coming out(camaro, challenger, etc),are just way way to heavy.

Nice kill I finally saw one in person the other day. Good looking cars but I would definatly take an SS/TC over it.

Nice, But the G8's can be monsters again, with some simple modifications. They've got class that a cobalt can't compete with

The difference between the G8 SE V6 and GT V8 is exhaust tips... The G8 Gt has four exhaust tips\two per side, the V6 model has just one on each side and a GT badge on the trunk lid, not the license plate........ They (G8 GT) make 360 hp... and as of the 14th of Nov. they've been re-certifed at 355 hp..... They trap nearly identical to the SS\TC stock for stock.. In the quarter... A simple $80 re-tune alone,to take tq management out of it has shown a 25-33 crank hp gain in the G8 GT V8's

Nice kill...

The G8 GXP 415 hp LS3 (yes the vettes LS3) and the camaro SS and convertable camaro are all on hold till what ever happens to GM happens......

A friened of mine that was doing test driving a 2009 G8 GXP back in Detroit, MI did just a re-tune on it and gained a massive 37 crank hp, that's 451 bhp in a 3940 lb car... a weight to pwr ratio good enough to challenge the 500 bhp V10 M5 >> which weighs 4280 lbs...... Add to tha t>> Headers, exhaust CAI and a new -tune and he said 515 bhp is easily obtainable..... If they make it... this is the car that'll share the bed with my SS\TC

def a good kill dood. but those G8's for being 4door and just perfect looking in all aspecs are a very good car. Does anyone know if GM put that motor in the G8 where at cruise it uses 4 cyl. instead of all 8?

Yes, it has DOD...

Good run, a TC and GT could go either way on the highway; it's a toss up!
