It happens. I saw a mustang driving all fast then heard a terrible grind when he tried to peel out. I loved it.

When you said gear grinder, I expected it to be a new Mustang. They have such horrible transmissions

I don't understand how people grind gears. I learned to drive standard on this balt. I've NEVER ground a gear.

I've done it. It happened when I got careless and let off the clutch before I moved the shifter all the way to second.

Aw ****. I'll be honest. I have a Tacoma (5 speed manual) - it takes long strokes of both the shifter and clutch to get that in gear compared to the 'balt. I have a Z28 (6 speed manual). It has a perf clutch that takes authority to shift and a short throw aftermarket pole of some kind (bought it with it). And then I have the 'balt.

When I switch between vehicles, I sometimes "check the gear hardness", when I either engage the clutch too quickly (when I switch from the Z28 to the 'balt), or let the clutch out too early (when I switch from the 'balt to the Taco).

Hate it when I get all shitty on the gears after changing cars......

Sonafabitch!!! As if - I just did it on the way home this afternoon. I was going clutchless and I forgot to blip the throttle before upshifting - "Bzzzzaaaaaaaaaaaa" - I quickly blipped and popped it in.

Now, the more I think about it, the more I think I'm going to start accidentally doing it more!

Bum left knee and a lack of timing at times will do it.

Don't hate. My car is grinding (******* F23 trans fail), and I still would race someone in a heartbeat.
