GMS1 TC vs Volvo 650R?
was heading home today and passed a red volvo wagon with ferrari stickers on the fenders and 650R on the back... euro plate in the back window that said "FLKNZRICE". clean looking car. a while later he came up behind me and gunned it to pass me. i went to third and put it to the boards as his front end was near my quarter but he was already clipping pretty good. he pulled 2 cars on me until about 160 then i started to real him in and was almost caught up to him when we had to slow for traffic. i wasn't watching the speedo but we were flying. we gave each other a smile and went on our way. here are some pictures i snapped of it. pretty quick car but i was a bit faster wish i could have talked to him to see what he had under the hood!

canadian bud hence the flag on the post. as i stated in the post he had the jump on me. the fact that i caught up to him says that chances are from an even pull i would beat him.

dunno but it scooted pretty good when he first got on it. It's a safe bet it's custom because not too many volvos have ferrari stickers on the front fenders either nevermind the 650R lettering on the back lol

lol not ashamed at all... in fact when he was pulling away when i first got on it i was impressed and knew it wasn't a normal volvo wagon .. hell i could tell that the first time i went passed it... doubtful someone would put ferrari badges and an antirice plate on a car if it wasn't somewhat fast. but again i was able to catch up to him even after he had a bit of a head start... wouldn't mind talking to the guy to see what else he has done to it if anything. i wonder if he was suprised when i started to get bigger in his rear view mirror though. he passed me pretty aggresively so he may have known what was up with my car.

Sweet Volvo!!! I had an 850 wagon back in the day. First car, from the parents, you know safety and such. The T5-R was beastly. The 850r or T5-R runs low boost, like right at ten lbs, but I don't 100% remember. The 650r is the 240 hp (auto) 250 hp (manual) turbo and intercooled 2.3l I-5 motor. Plus Volvo's run FOREVER. Good one OP. Those can get fast for a streetable aircraft carrier. They are HEAVY. They were the fastest wagons on earth until the srt-8 magnum.

i doubt they were mods to look cool... and given how fast it was it deserves a ferrari badge for those ricers who laugh when a bright red volvo with ferrari badges blows their doors off. im 99% sure it said 650R and also had the antirice place which again would be another mod for laughs with a hidden message in it. there was nothing serious about the car except its performance and clean look.

To my knowledge there wasn't a 650... And that is definitely a 850 turbo in the original post, you are right OP very clean. I had the exact same car but non turbo. Those wheels are stock on the turbo. Its a cool car man I kinda wish I had kept it.

Edit: Sorry that 0-60 of 5.7 is for the sedan the wagon is 6.5 or so. Still very fast for a wagon.

how long ago was that? i thought you could get the last gen 400hp m5s in a wagon here. my dad recently bought a 04 volvo wagon for 3k and its in damn good shape. runs nice, nothing wrong with the body or interior at all. some dude on craiglist was unloading it so his wife couldnt take it in the divorce.

The 850 T-5R was the fastest automatic transmission automobile at the time, until the 1997 Corvette automatic later topped the Volvo's 0-60 mph time. It was the fastest sedan available in terms of 0-60 mph and 1/4-mile times and top speed until the German automakers began the famous horsepower wars that continue to this day.
must have been this with some exterior mods.
