I was on the track with an Exige. Trust me. If it an Exige, $65,000, he WAS just making you feel good. People that own cars like that don't race on the street. I don't know about the Elise but the Exige is a RACE car that is allowed on the road. Did your competition have a scoop on the roof? It's the air intake for the rear mount engine. Quite a car.

What kind of idiot drag races in a Lotus. NOT what those cars are made for. It's like some kid taking his go-kart out to Jr Dragsters night. Not where it belongs.

lol this is true. I was a little surprised by that edmunds video too. When I read "@ the track" I assumed it would be a road course.

who cares? its not like its a stock miata. Its more than capable of competing in the 1320, and shouldnt be excluded from such events just because its a great handling car.

I agree, no exclusion from the quarter and besides those guys that own those cars will def. Not resist the urge to go straightline. I mean what was the lotus guy gonna do, just hit a g in the circle with me and then as soon as it straightens out just hit the brakes and slow down? No he wanted to keep going and he got beat!! And it was prob was a 180hp lotus.

They are supercharged stock actually with an eaton blower. I think they should be turboed though because it would be better for the motor efficiency. The K20 swap is cool, I'm assuming they did other mods to it as well. Those motors can be beasts when done up right but it takes quite a bit of work. I would rather put a 13b rotary in it because its light and it revs to the moon, perfect for racing.

It's cool Lotus is a niche car, most people don't know but about them at all. I was just posting to correct not to beat on you.

they also have really short gearing, which allows for their great 0-60 times. But at higher revs they just run out of motor, some of the first ones to the states had even lower then 180hp, and the newer ones with no forced induction (off the top of my head) are 2-210 crank. Still really fun cars, but if it was anything with forced induction, have fun, cuz he was messing.
