GOD are C4 corvette's slow

EDIT : This race was with the IRL

I've been searching locally for this C4 owner who has the plate "UWldLse". I Thought i was coming up on him tonight but it was just a bunch of teens in there dad's L98 vette. It could have been there vette so maybe it was there's but it was LOUD. I'm guessing custom exhaust and possibly headers. We caught a light and the dialog started

Me : L98 or LT1
Them : Ugh.. What?
Me : What engine?
Them : 5.7L
Me : Ohh god. Is it fast?
Them : It'll smoke you ricer

Light goes green and we take the bend getting onto the 60. 20mph and he romps on it and i simply walk him like he's standing still. Hit 70 and had 4-5 cars and simply let off. Had to be an L98 because i wouldn't have kicked the **** out of an LT1 that fast. Wish we could have went from a stop but i'm sure i'll get some action at the track tomorrow night.

L98's : Slow
LT1's : Not as slow

BTW - Yes i street raced so you can all flame me for it.

Wonder how much a difference it would be against a ZR-1...not defending, just curious

I think a ZR1 would walk me hard after 60mph. I've driven one before and they pull HARD from 60-130. They pull on average low 13's at 106+ with good drivers.

There's a big difference between the LT1 vette and the Camaro. A good 168lbs curb weight plus the vette had alittle hotter cam. Not fast these days but very fast back in the early 90's.

Everytime i see a C4 it takes me back to being a kid.

EDIT : There is only 168 pounds separating an LT1 Camaro Z28 and an LT1 Corvette

One of my friends had a 1990 Corvette with the L98 and ran a 14.2 bone stock. Another had a LT1 and ran a 13.8 with only a K&N filter.

And the cams in the LT1's are all the same, GM always lowers the power ratings down when the Vette engine gets handed down. The 275HP F-Body LT1 is the same as the 300HP Vette LT1 the Vette was usually rated a little higher due to better manifolds and larger exhaust.

What kind of comment is that?

Any Corvette after 1992 will run high 13's or better.
