gonna race a v6 mustang

I'm gonna race a V6 3.8 mustang, it is a 98 and it is an auto. He says he doesn't have a rev limiter nor a governor, but that seems hard to believe.
I got a 2.4 auto.
What are the chances of me winning? and any simple quick mods i can do with in two weeks.

yeah, but do you think he still has his governor and rev limiter? i personally don't cause he doesn't seem to be mechanically smart or just smart in general.

air box mod, learn to launch (unless your doing a roll), maybe some weight reduction, B&M shift plus kit.

he could have had that removed via a tune but i highly doubt it. It wouldn't matter either way because its not give him anymore power.

I beat a 96-97 mustang GT at the track in my 2.2L (mods in sig) on sunday THREE times (after the third time he left) so just get shift plus and you should have it.

If it's a '98 Auto, and he doesn't have some significant mods, you should win. A stock '98 auto is a mid-16 second car or often worse.

If it was a '99+ 5-speed, you'd have reason to be worried, but a '98 Auto shouldn't be too much trouble.

doesnt take alot of ingenuity to throw a shop a wad of cash...

As for the 2.4 5spd, you should have him.

a mildly bolton (intake/header/exhaust) mustang GT auto was running 15.5 (fastest)...

they arnt very fast.

My buddy has a 98 V6 auto stang and I beat him no problem. He has an intake, and exhaust. I am stock.

Like he said, they aren't as fast as they would like you to think

You'll be fine, I used to beat brand new Mustangs with my modded '95 Grand Am. 3.1L V6 (CAI, catback, new coil packs, spark plugs) It was embarrassing for those people.
