Got beat by a integra :(
Well in the first oppertunity ive had to race i got beat by and Integra GSR 94-97. The only mod i could tell was an exhaust. So i pull up to a light and the integra starts reving so i say what the hell its the middle of the night no ones around. So the light turns and i spin my tires through the entire intersection. Well after that he had a couple car lengths on me and i was slowly catching up but then another red light so i roll down my window and see if he wants to go again, he says sure. So the light changes and i only burn through half the intersection. Hes still ahead of me but just barly. I slowly creap up on him and decide 140km/h is fast enough so i slow down. I give him the thumbs and for a good run and he does the same.
For my first go i wasnt to dissapointed to lose since ive only been driving standered for 2 weeks. But i cant get the hang up taken off. Im sure i woulda beat him if i didnt burn the entire intersection. Anyone got any tips.

Edit: Got this off the Car and Driver web-site. Partial quote from an article enitled:
"Remember the Integra GS-R? Well, you can forget about it."
BY TONY SWAN
BY JEFFREY G. RUSSELL
June 2001
"The Type-S engine shares the same block, but its internals are beefier and it's different up top. The compression ratio is 11.0:1 versus 9.8:1; its VTEC system operates on both the intake and exhaust valves; it's equipped with a single set of intake runners designed to enhance high-rpm output; and it makes a bunch more power: 200 horsepower at 7400 rpm. That's five more than the Integra Type R and 30 more than the GS-R, and with its new close-ratio six-speed, we expect the Type-S to hit 60 mph about a half-second quicker than the last Integra GS-R we tested (December 1999), which would be well under seven seconds. The standard RSX, for its part, will come with a five-speed manual transmission, or the option of a five-speed sport-shift manumatic. It obviously won't be as quick as the Type-S, but it, too, should be quicker than its ancestors, as well as its competitors.--TS"

yeah but this was just driving on the street so pulling all fo this number garbage means nothing.... think about it even an extremely slow car.. ( say a 16 sec car) can beat a Cobalt SS on any given sunday,... lol nice line your only talking a couple of seconds and if the other cars runs perfect and the cobalt spins misses shifts... ect anythig can happen

the '06 rsx-s is still 210hp but due to new dyno testing the SAE is doing to record hp & torque #'s, it's down to 201hp. the new dc5 integra type R's have 220hp and will spank a type S and very possibly beat a cobalt SS. i'm not bashing on the cobalt but the dc5 type R is a beast.

Those GSR's are harder than some may think. They are small, light, nimble, and can have quite a bit of power if modded right. Low TQ numbers doesn't mean the car is slow. I'd be willing to bet a well modded GSR will easily handle a modded SS, especially in the top end.
BTW, I'm new here. I like this place. Everyone seems down to earth so far.

Thanks
My buddy had a yellow R. It was damn fast. he had the usual I/H/E mods, and he lightened it up a bit. Now he's got an RSX S, and that thing is a beast. Hondata#4, I/H/E and some other things. We'll line up soon I think. I'm imagining it will be close. I hope.

damn, I'll have to find that video. I got a buddy with a modded 1.8T as well. He beat the RSX-S, so I might need some mods to beat the VW. I can't wait until the mods start coming out for my car.

here's the vid. RSX-S vs CSS

Wow, thanks. It's looks to be a drivers race, especially from a dig. Its amazing how from a 20mph roll, the SS took off like a rocket, but from 40mph, it was dead even. I'm suprised the RSX didn't get by him in 3rd gear. My buddies RSX's 3rd gear is strong as hell.
