well its like 3am and i'm crusin' home when this cutie in a gt pulls next to me. she gets on my left and keeps inching on me so we decide to go from a 40 roll. pulled hard on her and shut her down everytime she tried to reel me in. so we hit a light and neither of us jump til we hit 20. she pulled first and i gave her a lenght then reeled her in and walked her like nobodys business. at the next light i rolled down my window down to holla at her and i get pulled over. turns out a cook county cop was playing catch up and when i walked on her pulled me over for being the faster car. i won and lost at the same damn time. cool cop just doinmg his job. only got me for speeding and not drag racing, towed my ride but i'll get it back in a coupla of hours. yeah street racing is dumb but we all do it, i just got caught this time.

 

how fast did it say you were going on the ticket? and what was the zone? and did u hook up with her after?

 

so if he only got you for speeding then why did he tow your car? sounds like street racing punshiment to me...

 

ticket said 95 in a 45, they call it aggravated speeding....lol....aggravated. not sure of the zone but it was a commercial district no homes or apartments. and no i didn't but that wasn't really the point although if i hadn't gotten pulled over i would have.

 

in cook county they tow all aggravated speeders, cop told me.

they probly took it bc here in mentor, ohio if u double the speed limit they hafta take ur car. doublin the speed limit is reckless operation. so i would think its pretty much the same there. i almost ahd thsi happen to me 2 days ago i got 69in a 35 racin sumone . gotta go to court wed for it

50+ miles per hour over the speed limit is reckless driving in Indiana too. Would get towed for sure unless the cop saw the hot girl you were trying to hook up with and just smacked the back of your hand....

And yes--what year was the Grand AM GT? I really have doubts as to wether it was a 99-05.
Maybe it was older then that.

98 and 99 GT are different cars.

One is a 16 second 3.1L with 160HP, the other is a mid-high 15 second car with a 3.4L 175HP

 

bodies look the same and didn't get a chance to ask considering i was getting pulled over. i'm sorry but thats the best i got.

 

grand am gt's **** me off...They always think they're fast cause they say gt on them. I hate them. I don't even bother with them anymore, cause I have 20 more horses and about 600 less lbs. without using N20. *****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate grand am gt's:-)

 

3.1L MPFI = 2.2L Ecotec + 10-15lbs Torque

My 3.1L in my 94 Cavailer Z24 takes a long time to get to 100mph.

 

It dosent take long at all to get to 100mph in a 2.2 L ....I raced my brother in his 95 Eclipse 2.0 Doch and killed him ...Got to 100 in a hurry

 

ive raced a 01+gt grandam....i still got almost a car length in my 2.2 sedan with just a cai.....

 

If you consider 25 sec a hurry.

According to my data an automatic Cobalt 2.2 takes about 25 sec to reach 100mph. Say 1 sec faster for the 5 speed.

a 99-05 Grand Am GT takes 23 secs--so its fairly close. Actually thats very good for the Cobalt!

 

Well hear goes standin up for the Grand Am again but im sorry i have drivin both and obviously own the Grand Am and continously hate having to stand up for it cuz like someone said its obviously not fast especially not cuz it says GT on it by any means. If yall ran from 40 obviously your gunna kill the grand am its the worst possible mph to roll from in a grand am. it usually down shifts to second at like 3000 rpm and has no power at all i can run faster acceleration wise at 40. If yall came from like 25 you would have gotten killed till like 60 or so then i have no problem believing you caught up.

These grand ams have nothing but low end torque that absolutely flies outta first till 45 and then super slow and get killed by anyone after first gear. Ive drivin the N-body the last 4 years and can tell yall in completely honestly to this and anyone else who beats the **** outta these grand ams. And to satisfy whoever said it yes on a grand am GT does not mean a dang flippin thing other than price tag its hardly any faster than a regular v6 3.4 and does not have any more power whatso ever its a great GM failure so its not surprising at all to get beat anywhere past 60 or so. And sorry bout your ride man it sucks ya should not have wasted your time on any type or racing shoulda worried about that number lol\

Without spray, my 2.2 only has 12 horses more than this guy, and I am able to go 70mph in less than 10 seconds. (69.8 at 9.98 to be exact.) I can get to 100mph in 4 more seconds, so I'm guessing he can get there in about 16-18. No way 25. Stock maybe 25, but not modded.
