Grand Prix GXP
New model. Ran from 2nd to top of 3rd. Pulled a little on him. Was a good race, I'd like to find one in 60 degree weather and on the interstate to get a better run.
There was no traffic and this was a few days ago (when we didn't have snow), just has been a slow night lol.

Sweet kill dude! That's a 5.7L, 300 horsepower V8, must've felt good to slightly edge on him. The downside to the Grand Prix GXP is the weight (3600lbs) and the forced automatic tranny.
>>NOTE: Outside temperature will not change how your car runs. The computer will always force the car to have 260hp/260trq no matter what the weather. See for yourself. Check out how much boost you run on a cold day, then check on a hot day. The comp will lower boost in colder weather and increase it in warmer. It's a smart idea I think, but I can't wait to get rid of it with the GM tune when it arrives!

The outside temperature had to do with the traction, not performance of the engine. And thanks! It's actually a 5.3L, same engine they've used in the trucks and alike. Although with the the 3600lbs, and 4 speed auto-manual, the 303hp/320tq doesn't make much of an impact from a dig, it sure does do well from a roll!

Yeah, I'd like to catch one on a flat interstate type road since this was an incline, where it is a weird spot to do a quick run but I haven't had a decent race in awhile lol

LS2guy - are you also considering the fact that there is no 2005 lightning, so he beat an imaginary truck?

40 mph is first gear.
it's a 5.3 liter that shares absolutely nothing with a truck motor. it shares more parts with the z06 than anything else. 243 head castings. minus sodium filled valves.
coming from the guy who had an 05 gxp.
chris. if you beat one by 4-5 cars. he wasn't racing.

Well damn, I thought for sure that it was alike with the 5.3L truck engine they use. Oh well. Brain doesn't think about cars when it's in finals mode lol.

There is a GXP supercharged Grand Prix. It was the older models though, I think the gen 2 of the GTP had a limited run of the GXP editions. There was one that I really wanted when I was 17.

no, you are thinking of the GTP Comp G, that had 263 hp, but then they dropped in the 5.3L and the GXP was born. you could order a GTX made by a conversion company sold thru dealers.
