Gti > cobalt :(

Today I was putting along and this VW I think it was a gti and they flew up right behind me and tailed me till we got to a two lane. He got next to me and I nailed it the Gti was 2 cars back and then took off like a bat out of hell and was about 6 car leinghs in front by 90 mph. and Im wondering what the hell is in the GTI's.

Yea the 1.8t has 180hp and the newer one is a 2.0t with 200hp. Even though it is turbo, there is almost no lag in that car, they have very good power bands. The torque on those peak at just under 2,000 rpms and they are very easy to upgrade with a $500 chip.

Eh, they're not that quick but I think it's fast enough to beat a 2.2 in your condition.

Don't feel bad...I got beat by a modified GTI in my 06 Eclipse GT...defenitley wasn't the stock turbocharger lol.

I don't know about the "very good powerband" part, that depends on the person. That turbocharger on that car is extremely small, probably as big as my fist. It has no "lag" cause it's extremely small and make crap for top end power.

As far as upgrades, yeah, it's easy to make any stock turbocharged car faster.

You can race my 88 Honda Accord. It takes like 2 minutes to get to 60 Mph. You should be able to put a couple lengths on it
