GTO vs M3 vs SS/TC

Going down tonight, the M3 has intake, header, exhaust, tune. The SS/TC has Intake/tbe/tune.

Who's gonna come away with it?

the real question is it a late model M3??? (E92 I think)....If so, just bend over now..(115 mph traps out the box). But you said header (singular) so I'm assuming it's an E46...they're slow, should be a good run

true if its an e92 wit those mids i def say it goes to the m3.. but e46 wit dinan mods and tune i think the m3 will still win

There is no race he posted this to stir up **** from the previous thread that was locked! Nice try tho.

But to help out here the M3 comes factory with headers so if they did upgrade them it can yield between 5 to 15 rwhp. Exhaust can be tricky as some companies advertise a M3 exhaust and its just the muffler. Seeing how its a 3.2 six cylinder with a true duel 2 1/4 inch piping there's not really a need to go bigger. The tune depends on the headers for me to say weather it'll add anything or just turn off a CEL. And the biggest single waste of money for an M3 is an intake! The car already has a fully fuctional factory cold air/ram air intake straight from BMW so anything else is a waste of money. Maybe a drop in and an elbow replacement but thats as far as you need to go.

Hope this help.

Damn,I mean darn, a ceramic coated flux capasitor? I am gonna ask my dad for one for my big wheel.
maybe your dad can talk to my dad and tell him to do mine like that.
Mine is still at only neg 2 in the quarter....does that make your big wheel faster than all big wheels?

No really, we're all runnin tonight. The roads cleared up and we're heading out for a few roll runs. The BMW is a 2004 M3 with Dinan parts. The car is littered with Dinan advertisements. He even has one of those huge decals that goes diagonally over the hood "Dinan". I'm not sure about the tune although one of his friends said it was an all out one that messes with all the perameters and was done on a dyno. I had heard through the grapevine that he's just over 300whp.

The SS/TC makes ~290whp
I make ~390whp.

Everyone involved has been argueing weight/power and that I shouldn't beat either cars because mine is heavy. So we'll see tonight, I'm bringing a camera but it's my old ass one from the late 90's and there's no gaurentee it's gonna work right. One little shake and it screws the whole shot.

I'm interested more in the M3/TC race.

Ok SHO I'll give you the benifit of the doubt. If he's "just over 300WHP" He's not far from stock thats for sure. Where are you running? And from what speeds?

Highway probably 40-120ish. I know for sure he made 265 stock so he's up at least 35whp.

I'm from the Central part, we got about 10 inches yesterday afternoon. We might postpone due to ice possibilties.

Oh go ahead on out and crash into that minivan full of holiday shoppers, ice is not a big deal, nor is street racing.

The M's gearing is where it makes up for it. That and the fact that if its re-flashed he's good 8000 or 8200 rpm depending on the flash. Now mine gives me to 105 in 3rd gear before it hits the limiter. From a roll on the highway is where the M is designed to be run.
Now if it were me running in this "race" it'd be up to the top end, no shutting off at 130 and that means 180 to 185. Thats IF the M really is flashed cause the first thing a re-flash does is get rid of the top speed limiter.

Thanks guy! I'll be sure to find those shoppers at midnight tonight on that empty highway in the middle of nowhere!

We don't come close to those speeds around here.

Still this time of year with the weather a race isn't exactly the best idea you gotta admit.

I've only raced a few times in my M. The most fun I had was shadowing a Carerra up to about 175 from I 70 to I 895 where he got off. I could pull up along side him but never had enough road to pass him. He looked.....upset.

Then I'm gonna have to say it'll be a no go. Dude seriously think about it! If yo had snow even a couple days ago your gonna have run off from the grass to the road. Cars don't like hitting puddles at high speed!
