Make sure to drop it to the lowest gear when you go. You have the 16" wheels, so you should be able to power brake it to about 1500-1700, and once you get into second, shift to I, and leave it.

Do that all right, and you will win.

Now,... Go get him tiger. *slaps you on the ass*

On the 2007 Cobalt LS Automatic, they replace the 1,2,3 with L,I,D. "L" removes traction control and torque limitation, increases tranny fluid pressure, and keeps the car in 1st and 2nd gear. "I" keeps traction control on, but increases tranny fluid pressure, and keeps the car in 2nd and 3rd. And "D" is the regular every day driving gear, normal pressure, t/c on, and allows the car to shift to Overdrive.

Everyone is talking about the HP difference..does no one notice the one that matters from a dead stop, the torque difference?

I have no idea what I'm talking about? What gets you moving? (HINT: NOT HORSEPOWER). Torque is what moves you off the line. Another little clue for you, kiddo, horsepower is a derivative of TORQUE. Thus the reason that a car like the RSX-S traps so high for it's time. No torque, but decent top end.

Remember:

Horsepower is how fast you can go.
Torque is how fast you can get there.
