Anywho, I was with my four friends, all about 160-180lbs each, full tank of gas (18.5 gallons), plus a full 5 gallon reserve tank in the trunk.

I look in my rearview and see bluish HIDs following me. I get over in the slow lane to let him pass, and he guns it and rips by me. Its a brand new EVO X, not sure whether it was a 6spd auto or 5spd manual. I take the bait and follow.

He speeds up to 90, then slows back down to 80 or so when we get to a straight 3 lane stretch without any cars. I downshift to fourth gear and get next to him (3rd gear redlines at 95ish, so I used 4th instead)

We rode side by side for a few seconds, then I see his front end lift up, so I hit the throttle. I walked him slowly at first, then pulled away faster and faster. By 135mph (top of 4th) I had pulled around 2 bus lengths from him, and I was freight training away.

I slowed down to 70mph, and he pulled up again on my drivers side, I rolled down my window, gave him a thumbs up and yelled "Nice Car!." He was a small asian kid (stereotypical), but he gave my a thumbs up and said something along the same lines. We both parted ways after that.

I figured the EVO X's had more then that in them

stock the evo X isnt that great, but with basic bolt-ons they are beastly. with just intake, exhaust, cams and tune they put down 330awhp or more. the EVO X is easily the best evo as far as tuner friendly engines. the new 4B11 isnt something to underestimate. watch out for the tuned X's

"yah i had 3 snow tires and a donut but i still had em up to 140 mph"

heres one with not so many mods running 355 awhp. an evo 9 or 8 with the same mods wouldnt run this much HP with same tune and all.

http://www.socalevo.net/index.php?op...&topic=60684.0

these are the same guys who tuned me.

Only reason the EVO X is slow is cause of the stock tune.

You show me a car that can take boltons only and put out over 100+ more whp UNTUNED.

nice kill hack and dont mind the people that think 130 is fast. They obviously never have gone 170 in a rx7 now that is ridiculous.

Actually I only get 22mpg on the highway. Rural driving, I've averaged up to 30 mpg before.

Thanks, Yeah, I though 120 was fast back when I have my cobalt, but when you can get there in just a few seconds, it doesnt seem fast at all.

Sounds about right for a result, the Evo X is not very fast from a roll... Us TC guys can take them, so a GTO certainly can.

i dont think thats very fast, but on snow tires that are probably rated at 85 mph its not very smart.

I could take a picture of it showing how ever many gallons you want. I'd switch gas stations if I were you, they're charging you for 18 gallons and you're only getting 16.

The SLP Packages are not worth the cash they charge for them, you can do much better on your own piecing together your own setup.... and make a lot more HP when you throw a cam into the mix.
