Anyone know how I'd fare?

I raced 2004-2007 Grand Prix with the updated 210hp 3800series, he got a half second head start, and by 75mph he had only a bumper on me and I crawled him around 85mph (just after the quarter)

According to what I've been able to dig up, the 1997-2003 Grand Prix was the same weight with a detuned 195hp 3800series.

Some kid has been talking smack to me about how his 1998 GT would wax me, he originally said he wanted to race for $100, but the next day he said it wasn't even worth it (he's obviously scared)

He also claimed he got a turbo for his car, but I know he's lying because this kid doesn't know jack **** about cars, he's a high school drop out and doesn't make much money anyway.

Does anyone know for a fact whether the 2004+ Base model Grand Prix is faster than the older model GT with the same engine?

I'm thinking this could be an easy 100 bucks, haha

I actually test drove a 2004 pontiac grandprix gtp and then a couple months later took out a 2006 grandprix base model with the the regular 3800v6. without that supercharger its not that fast at all. I actually was lined up against this guy in a modded ford focus and he actually had the jump on me by like half a car. I'd say you beat him with the mods you have plus those grandprix's are heavy as **** lol.

 

well i beat a brand new lancer... non evo so id put the money on the 2.2....

 

He called me up and apologized, he said "his car would take me for the first 1/2 mile, then I'd take over"

Hahaha, try 1/8th mile tops, I know his torque would pull me off the line, but I'd catch up quick after that, just like the other Grand Prix I raced.

 

haha. well my gf has a grand prix, they r quick, but they r heavy. it's like jiminy glick in a cross country race. he'd b fast for the first 1/16th of a mile then die. my buddy has a grand am, i walk him. he has the 3400. my other buddy has a tuscani tiburon, i walk him. regular tiburon walk it. lmao...my buddy with the grand am, stays like 1 1/2 cars back(with a cai), and then after about 3/4 he walks me. u wud smoke it.

 

i drove a new grand prix GXP, the v8 ones...they are SO FAST!
