i can't get anyone to race me
damn dart, sounds like you are the only one posting that knows anything.
Actually the war stories is not meant for street racing.
"War Stories Post your racing wins. CobaltSS.net does not support or encourage street racing. Be smart and take it to the track."
Says that right above the first post on the forum. It is meant to tell what cars you beat at the strip. The drag racing section is for questions on drag racing and tips and telling about what you have accomplished with times.

x2. 1st and 2nd are "useless"?
Probably one of the most ricer things I've heard. REGARDLESS of what power you put down in a cobalt... If you can drive.. You DEFINITELY will use 1 & 2 to your advantage and man up and race from a dig. Ryan from ZZP I believe has 510whp.. And uses 1 & 2 wonderfully. Are you pushin' that much hp big guy?

You don't spin if you can drive, aka throttle control. Ever hear of peddling the throttle to keep traction?

Look at the 1:30 mark. Watch him pedal 1200+ whp Supra on the streets.

also, how many drag races at the track have you seen between street class cars where the tires dont spin at all? excluding racing slicks of course. most cars are going to spin a little before hooking up to get out of the hole faster.
the skill thats involved as to how much your going to spin your tires is your launch. launching at say 3-4K is good for our cars instead of 5-6K. either way your going to spin, but youl spin less with the lower rpm launch. you launch to low and your not going to spin at all, but your not going to get off the line that quick either.

mph so the tires stay planted. before i bought this car, i had no idea what "roll racing" was.
now that i have this tune, i fully understand why guys do it.
my buddy flipped his eagle talon Tsi awd a few years ago on an exit ramp. when the towtruck showed up and flipped it over and the guy drove it on to the truck. 2 days later we drove it 15 miles from the tow place to his house and the thing ran good as new that car was a damn tank
im talking about going WOT. if your peddling your throttle your most likely doing it to keep control of your car. i understand if you have a car with such high hp like that supra your going to have to peddle the throttle on it, it has the power to spin through half of its gears easy. now take a 300whp cobalt. your going to spin thru first no matter what, unless you really let off on that throttle. if you take two similar cobalts with the same hp, and one spins thru first while the other feathers the gas and all that, the one thats spinning is going to go faster. just because your spinning doesnt mean your not going anywhere, you just dont have FULL traction.

let me add something i forgot in my last post.
guys with no skill who spin thru all their gears are most likely doing this:
theyre spinning thru first and once the tach hits that redline they shift into the next gear while spinning, so theyre going to continue to spin.
the trick is to stay in the gear until you feel your tires start hooking up. you have to time it right. once you feel your tires hooking up, then you upshift and it will decrease how much your going to spin in the next gear.
the downfall to that is if you wait to long for the tires to hook up, your going to bounce off the rev limiter. so you really have to feel and know your car well, meaning have skill to drive it fast.
thats the best way i can explain it.
ive practiced my launches with my ss/tc and what works best for me is ill launch at 3500. ill spin thru first gear pretty easy, but when the tach hits the redline i dont shift just yet. once i feel the car is about to grip then ill nls into second. if i time it just right ill chirp the tires like hell but itl hook up early into second. if i time it wrong then ill bounce the rev limiter and miss the NLS.
to a point tho, slow swap your right, if your spinning too much your not skilled. but spinning doesnt mean you cant drive. its how you handle it.

dart, i agree with the above statement. if you burn all the way to red, and shift, you will most likely burn all the way through second. if you keep it spinning, hell you might be able to burn through third etc.. i am not talking about that. i can peddle the car in second, and slowly get back on it and when i start getting close to WOT it starts breaking free again.
Your a real big dip ****. Did you post up some video's of STREET RACING. Stop trying to act cool, also your such an phony ****. If all these people didn't say keep it off the street you wouldn't of said **** about it, but you always go off of what other people saying and then you agree. Total Dip ****.
"wow, i can honestly say i am a little bit surprised. i post in a "war stories" section, along
with hundreds of other threads and i get flamed. you have to be a logged in member just to see this section. there IS a separate section entitled "drag racing". maybe you guys should stick to posting there. ******* hypocrites."
^That's what the OP said, so I was trying to explain why he got the responses he did.
So really, you need to stop acting like you are so cool and like your are a ******* keyboard warrior. Just stop acting like you are tough **** on a forum and grow up.
I never said I didn't post videos or that I never posted street races in the war stories section. I was saying what it was really meant for and why everyone is flaming him.

I think you were being bashed, because you are complaining that no one is willing to street race you and how you only like to roll race. If you were to post a topic about an actual race I think it would have been different.

Come to Woodward Avenue any warm night from now till it snows...drag racing light to light and the cops are no where in sight...I guess there are more "retards" than we were aware of in Motown...
I play it safe and watch on the side line...
Dude I used to street race well warehouse race because racing on the streets is Fu**ing stupid. I've seen death galore and wrecked cars because of immature kids. I race at warhouse district meaning there's cops an owners there making sure of saftey of the racer. Legal it is private property. But since I'm out of college have a family and care about how my family will have money the next day. Te only way o race is ont the strip.
People who do burn tires are not always bad drivers. It could be because they have full boost in 1st or no drag radialz, car is stock height. I don't even launch my car I go from a idle and set boost to 5 lbs in first and still spin while being easy on the throttle and second yeah no such thing, all second is , I would have to say smokeen rubber. So it is not always the drivers fault......
But back to the racin. Be smart dont ask people to race u out of the track. U wouldn't want to be dead would you or in jail for murder ?

but i would MUCH rather prefer a third gear roll. just hate to lose to a slower car because
all i am doing is peddling and spinning. LOL.
Also I'm done arguing with you about stupid **** so just grow up man. Seriously.
Also, nappy hair? lol nice one. Use some proactive? GOOD ONE! Its called being a teenager dumb ass. and skinny jeans? thats the best one yet because I never wear jeans except for at work and they aren't "skinny jeans". Those were some good insults though, im really hurt.

i feel like this sight is full of pansies. immature, young and old, pansies. i guess im being one of those pansies to an extent by saying this, but come on. lets grow up everyone. btw; i just added another useless post to my post count.
do..............i'll meet you up there and watch from the sidelines too.
with that much power you just have to repeat what i said, but in the next gear. high powered hondas are notorious for spinning, thats how i learned how to drive better and manage wheel spin. however if your spinning all the way thru 3rd gear, your going to need to get some better tires or drag radials, thats too much spinning. lol. spinning thru first and second is ok if u manage it right, but after that its really going to start hurting you.
