Confucius says... Duck.
Always expect the unexpected. Always be on your defense. You were pretty brave for being that close to him, and that's why his sucker punch founds it's target. You could have been the one knocked out, and by the time you come to, your car would have been long gone.
Next time (hopefully there won't be) Keep your distance man.
Glad to here, and see that you came out on top. Way to show that fool what's up!!

Glad to see another korean martial arts practicer running around the boards.
I started when I was 12, bout 19 years ago. 2nd Dan, with instructor certification for the USTA. I started taking hapkido in high school and yudo (korean form of judo) in college. I also did some boxing, both in high school and the army. Add on Army Combatatives (Gracie Jujitsu with lots of added strikes) and thats where I'm at right now.
The funny thing is, I'm a skinny lil guy (5'9", bout 155lbs) so I was always the one people would start fights with while I was out of my friends. Heh, you would think they would notice the several times broken nose, scar split eye brow, and really scarred up knuckles.

Looks like he landed a left.
You mention a very important point here:
" i just started to unload on him some more.. with everything i got.. because i didnt want him to get back up "
Sooooo many people make that mistake.... Once you get into it, finish the deal.
However, I prefer to watch the bar fights from my stool. In this case it was defence, and no bar fight so you had no choice
