ok..... so i had a chump in an ss impala 2008 try to do a ricer fly by while i was driving up a hill. i hit the gas in first to keep up with him and when i got into 2nd the nose of my car was right by his door. i get into third and start gaining on him. when i get even with him hit hits his breaks... WTF!!!! he then rolls down his window and proceeds to tell me how he just smoked me. i told him i was pulling on him when he hit his breaks and he tells me that he was letting off the whole time....???? so i ask him to go on the highway and he asked me for how much money. i told him $100 and he said "no.... $1000" so i agreed then he said no... lmao. i just had to vent. i hate n00bs like this.

apon further review it appears there is a 08 impala...i was wrong this whole time.

Impala ss's arent that fast..

I got a 05 ss/sc stage 2, 2.9,CAI, GMPP downpipe and catback exhuast and walked 1 the other day like it was a base model Impala..

 

i have an 06 ss/sc. those impalas only have 303hp and weigh somewhere around 3700lbs.... do the math. all i have done on my car is a catless downpipe and i was def pulling on him in 3rd gear.

Well considering a stock Impala SS runs about a 14.6, a stock SS/SC should walk one easily...

 

Nice kill. From a roll I can see you beating one rather easily, but from a dig I think it would be alot closer. Those 5.3's are pretty stout and in the Impalas and Montes I believe have hit low 14's stock.

 

I had a guy in a prelude do that to me the other day..... After cutting me off numerous times, enough so that I finally went to pass him... Not even WOT :-(.

and the 303hp is at the crank those things dyno about 230-240hp plus like someone else stated they're about 3700 lbs. So i highly doubt the impala ss would walk you. I call bs flag on the impala ss walking a cobalt ss/sc

 

haha, gotta hate when that happens! Had an early 90's Prelude do that last week. The coffee can flyby! Pulled up on hit and jumped 2nd, I even think he tried to keep up!

 

I had some kid try me while coming home tonight, in what I'm guessing was a basic b-series civic... I swear I couldn't tell if he was really stepping down or not from 80mph. I heard it revving, I thought he was trying to line it up with me or something, I stepped down in 5th and left the car.

Then my boy Pat who was with me, told me to really give it to the kid, just for fun. I waited for him to come back for a second shot, opened the bottle, grabbed third, and just straight up **** all over him.

My dad has a 07 Impala SS and last time I went down to see him we did a quick little pull and I walked him pretty good (same mods as in sig). So a stock vs stock would probably be a driver's race.

 

well i slipped a little in second but at the end of second and getting into 3rd i was coming up on him steady. like i said i didnt even know the guy was doing anything until i saw his lights disappear in my passenger side mirror..... he was trying to do a RICER FLYBY.... whats sad is this guy was easily in his late 30's and was pulling **** little high school kids do.... AND THOUGHT IT WAS LEGIT!

 

The LS4 V8's(grand prix gxp, impala/monte carlo ss) are definitely faster than mid 14's. They average low 14's/high 13's stock and a stock Cobalt SS is not going to walk one.
