Watch it a few times, I thought that as well. The camera angle is a lil deceiving! From in the car we were side by side at 1K mark and then he just started to pull ahead and got me by the long corvette hood LOL!

I believe we had this discussion a week or so ago about LS1 F-bodies vs stock SS/TC's from a roll. And everyone was saying that the SS/TC would get raped. From a roll I think the SS/TC can hang, maybe not win but it wont be destruction.

...You guys realize you are talking about a car that will never trap over 105 stock and a car that has trapped 110 in 100% stock form with multiple drivers? To hang next to a stock c5 from a roll I had long tubes, cut outs, 4.10's and a tune. I was trapping 108 at lapeer, probably a 110-112 trap anywhere that doesn't take traps with a stop watch and piece of string. There is no way a stock ss/tc should stay next to a stock c5 from a roll. You guys need to understand that a c5 weighs just over 3200 lbs and makes around 300rwhp.

The video posted is a clear example of how the SS/TC would get murdered from a roll....He got the upper hand from the dig, but the vette caught and passed you because it has superior trap speed. Vette wins from roll all day.

Either way, I admitted that the video I seen was of a tuned SS/TC vs an LS1. Stock for stock I dont think the SS/TC will get destroyed, but with a tune it will be alot closer.

Give us two weeks and well give you TONS of stock cobalt SS/TC getting ass raped by a lot of cars.

These are the types of threads why I cant stand this website sometimes.

A C5 6 speed Vette weighs 3200lbs and makes around 300-310 stock.

A Cobalt SS turbo weighs 2900-3000 and makes 230-245WHP stock.

Now can you guys please explain to me how in the **** a Cobalt is going to win making a good 60-70WHP less and weighing a mere 200LBs less and having shittier aerodynamics?

The cobalt would need to make AT LEAST 290WHP to run with a stock 6 speed C5 from a roll.

Another great race, it was pretty even only pulling maybe a half a car per gear! Once I hit 5th tho, it really was all over for him!!! I heard they have the same trans?? Maybe diff gearing? Regardless, this was another good race up til that 125-130 point, the SS just drops the speedo from there FAST! And away I went


The next couple are people that just don't realize what a new SS has


1st in this series was a 1.8T GTI, no clue on mods or year. It sounded like it had a muffler delete or a catless turbo-back! It spit and gargled and amplified under boost like a straight exhaust. I figured this would be a good run...WRONG! It was over as soon as it started. We slowed to about 60 and he honked it even..As soon as it started the pulling began like mad, I no-lifted to 4h and was WAY gone when I looked back!

2nd is a C5 vette, middle aged man that I'm sure assumed he could take a 4 banger easy. Well..he couldn't have been more wrong! We were cruising about 75-80, I was keeping pace. He then downshifts and tries to take off on me, I dropped quickly and mashed on it! I pulled the 2 mybe 3 car gap he made, no-lift shift and made the pass! The gap grew and grew. He did the famous...NOT going to pull up on the side after that, I don't care if you slow down to 25 LOL!!!!!! Love those

There's a couple more, but I don't want to sound like I'm a "street racer". I'm an avid drag racer and occasional auto-crosser.
I dont think he was racing u. No way a stock TC is going to take a C5, but not pull a stage 2 ONLY nsrt4.

I call teh BS on this race. Stock TC's are slow.

well, like I said, I have no reason to lie. And I even wrote later, maybe he didn't want to go so fast? Maybe he let off? I really don't know. Im not praising the TC like it's a Vette killer either LOL! Just listing people I raced and feel I beat. The vid shows with good driving vs bad driving the TC has a chance!
