me and a buddy raced last night. went from a 40 roll, and we stayed DEAD even till around 80, then he began to pull decently. Lost by about 3/4 to 1 car length before i shut it down. It was only him in his car, and i had a buddy in my car.

his mods were just a magnaflow catback and mazdaspeed brand intake.

my mods are (RL) - 2.9, 42s, meth injection, italianjoe mani, catted dp, 2.5 catback, cx racing he, K&N intake.

edit - i know how to drive...before someone mentions that.

yeah, its really sad when you have a 2.2 cobalt and tryin to mod it that can still only hang with base rsx's but hey, o well.

Anyways, im sure my buddy in the wont have TOO much to do with it,...but i duno, i was def surprsed after finding other threads on here. Either he gained, or i lost it at the top end though.

 

dont feel bad, MS3s are fast.

hey my 2.2 dusts rsx's and mine just beat a 99' turboed civic at 8 psi of boost 2 nights ago we did a 30 roll on and i pulled him in every gear......how about that?

Hey dude, yeah the MS3's are very fast... Stock they're pushing 263hp, and 285ft lbs of torque, just a few bolt-ons + tune literally puts them in the 290hp & 300+ lbs of torque...

I know two guys that have some decently modded MS3's ( They're kinda dicks.. well one is..) but they're fast there's no denying that.

So I'm not surprised that you lost you said by like 3/4 to 1 car length which isn't that bad... It's not like you got walked or anything.

But yeah, even between a stock SS/TC & a MS3 it'd be a drivers race...

gay.. i was the fastest balt in my town it sucks everyone wants tor ace you cant get threw 3 nights on a tank. according to the people in my town you can put a 50 shot on and auto 2.2 and be faster than an ss/sc thats topped out on mods nearly, only thing i didnt have was internals. not to brag but it wasnt evern worth racing other base model balts (no matter what they had), tiberons (slow), mustang gt's i would walk. then one a day a CRX pulls up and tries to race wtf wasnt even an si. and got pissed cause i looked at his engine and told them no point in wasteing gas. now back to the point at hand i havent raced a MS3 would have if i still ahd the balt. i did race a twin turbo SRT4 ill tell you bout that one. from a 50 roll he whoops my ass at 100 the pulled me by 2 cars. i think he was spraying. we was dead even then he looks over smiles and the all of a sudden bam pulls me by 2 cars. what yall think? sorry didnt mean to thread jack.

he right tho it was close. it could have been weather conditions deciding that race if it was only 3/4 of a car

although i have heard that the intake and cat-back makes a big difference on the ms3's...

They're NOT slow by any means.

i will excuse your ignorance. 2.2's with the right mods are beasts, with my mods, i destroyed a fully bolted RSX-S. I hang with stockish LSJ's, that is pretty impressive for a car that cost half as much as urs brand new, and under 2k in mods.
