Wiki is showing 5.3l V8. 303 hp 323 ft lbs. 3700 lbs.

I think you may lose by a 1/2 or a car...but I dont know what you dyno at.

i figured that as well. I know that they fall on their face around 80-90 mph. Daddy just bought it for him and he thinks hes a tough guy now. I'm a modest guy so i don't really care plus i don't like street racing. just curious for realistic input. I know im good for at least a high 13-low 14 1/4 mile pass

well, The cobalt is around 2800 lbs. so you have a huge weight advantage over him. I think honestly it'd be a very close race. you may win cause of the weight.

I ran a 14.01 @ 103.6mph with my stock cobalt SS turbo. I think I could take that Impala for sure stock. I bet you can get him. Off the line maybe alittle iffy but I think you may be able to pass him in the long run. 300hp at the flywheel is not impressive. thats about 270whp for them. Are they FWD?

Lets do a power to weight ratio here. Im gonna guess you got maybe 240whp at 2890lbs. Lets give him the 300whp at 3700Ibs.
you,
2890Ibs / 240whp = ~12.04 Ib/hp.

him,
3700Ibs / 300hp (flywheel haha) = ~12.33 Ib/hp.

It would be close if he made 300whp, but hes not. Hes probably at 270 like I said. If he FWD then theres no advantage for him over you and the advantage is really yours being lighter and getting better traction. You win hands down. Ricer math /end.

you'd win. Im sure of it. a stock sst/c beats a challenger R/T everytime off the line stock. they are over 300hp themselves. I dont think they even weigh 3700Ibs.

yea we are talking quarter mile times here. Engine and drivetrain matter not if he's making the same 1/4 time I do stock.

Also I could assume his car weighs close to mine and his power has to be very similar,

Sounds like a driver's race. I'm estimating you run at least as decently as a stock SC, so versus the impy, you're both talking 0-60 in the six seconds and change range, and the bone stock impy runs mid 14.5 on stock treads. All depends on launch and tire, so definitely don't run your studded tires!

I beat a stock ss by a car and a half, well an IRL. Gotta wait for the nittos in the spring no studs!
