me n my friend raced 1/4 mile in our LS's and i beat him by about a car length. I had a nearly empty tank, plus when we started i took the inside of the turn, he took the outside, had it pinned to the floor.

I raced a friend of mine who has the identicle car as me only he's silver and threw some neons on it. I pulled on him though and he was at my bumper when we stopped. That's because I'm the better driver. I picked better shift points judging by the performance of the vehicles.

 

You two should line up on the track and put some 2.2l times up here.

Any mods to either car?

 

No mods at all on mine. I'm saving up for a trade in for the SS/SC. No mods on his either. And I'd love to g oto the track and see what kind of numbers I can put down but I work WAY to much to really do anything.

I ran my LS at the track last year stock and i got low 16's I have done some work now to it and plan on doing a little more b4 taking it to the track this spring but I'm hoping for high 15's

ya man, i totally know what ur talking about. i raced a 2.2 myself. we both were ls trim, and both 5-speed manuals. i had a full tank of gas, so i cant say that he had an advantage. i mean my car had like 5k on it. idk about his. but i launched it and was a better driver in the end. i even started out bad and caught up to him in the end lmao. so the shifting i think is what made me blow him away. btw i took him by 1-2 cars 3 times in a row.

 

would you like to learn how to read? look at my sig. what does the four banger sound like in your redline exactly? im sure it sounds nothing like my car. don't tell people to get out of a cobaltss forum for not having an ss while you drive a redline....they have the "same god damn car, different engine." what are you gonna do, go cry to your saturn dent resistant side panels or something? if you don't like people without ss's on the cobalt forums, than you (not being an ss owner and all) should get the **** out.

 

lets see the eaton on my 2.2 screems like a bitch, smart ass, there are people on here that have mods that you dont know about, some on here have 2.0's that are now turbocharged, 2.2's turbo or supercharged

 

That just goes to show you how big of a difference shift points make. I remember when I first got my 2.2 and I ran across some punk kids with ricer syndrome in a Cobalt SS . I wanted to see just how quick the SS was so we took off from a light and I blew him away by like 2 lengths (actual 2 lengths not the big fish kind). He was a horrible driver. Less wheel spin from the jump, then he missed a gear, and then his driving was so horrible after that, he never caught up. AND WE RAN TO 85!!! Stupid ricer punks.

 

OMG what horrible driving.
