So i was on the way home and just driving 50 down a 45 and pass an m3, as i pass it i just look at it because i think they are pretty sweet it looked like a newer one like 05 or 06ish? after i pass him i see him get in my lane and when it opens up he gets next to me. He rolls down his window and points ahead to go. so we both take off from about 40 and slow down about 80 and he was at my back bumper. we did this twice and both times i beat him. the next light we talked real quick and he said his car was stock. arent they stock like 330 horse?
i was pretty sure he would beat me. i only have stage 2, and injen cai. was he a bad driver or could i really beat one?

i raced one and i have full exhaust and intake and it pulled on me a bit not by much

He possibly could have been automatic as well..

 

i am pretty sure he was stick because i saw his car jerk a lot to down shift, unless the car did it rough in auto.
i raced him down Elliot, between McClintock and the 101 it was an asian guy probably 25 years old?

 

They are rated at 263 hp from the factory and they are all stick I believe

 

The E46 M3 has 333 hp and 263 lb/ft stock. They average mid to low 13s trapping at 105+. The best trap speed I've seen from a stock one was 107. They pull pretty hard on top end.

 

I raced my friends E46 a few times back last winter before the snow and ice came down. I had a hard time but I beat him twice out of two times. Good job on beating a new one though. Luckily the guy you raced was a bad driver. But a win is a win.

 

m3s arnt ment for drag racing, they would rape almost anything at an autocross or any twisty road

 

without a doubt. I tell my friend with a E46 M3 that my car may be faster from a roll but your car is...better from a dig, better in the 14 mile, sounds better, better interior, better exterior, handles better, and most importantly...gets more punani.

I make sure to give respect where it is deserved. They are greatttt cars.

 

yeah they are sick cars agreed. def are overrated tho in just straight line speed. when ppl/ mainly kids that dont know anything about cars hear BMW, they think fast.

 

They do have some wicked low end torque though.

 

Not all, some manuals, very little tho. mostsly SMG transmissions. Paddle shift with the knob **** too The brand new M3 are ALL manuals tho, they havent developed the SMG transmissions yet im sure they are working on it tho. Some guy came in asking bout one and told him, not yet but there in the making. Guy has 06 M5 and is getting a M6 and brand new M3 to autocross with.
