Talking Maggie Supercharged CTS-V vs SS/TC on E47

Well i went and ran a buddy in his LS6 Maggied CTS-V. Considering the weight i was hoping it would be a pretty even race on E47. He made 503whp/507wtq, no idea what my car makes but i trapped 113.8 the other day with a lot of feathering the throttle through 1st and a little of 2nd.

Lined up from a 40 roll and he got me instantly by a car on the hit, not sure why but the car took a second to get into boost its normally pretty much instant. He slowly starts easing out on me and we shift to 3rd and i get back to his front fender on the shift. In 3rd gear he starts pulling about a car on me, then we shift to 3rd and i get back to his back bumper. By the top of 4th he managed to get a 1.5 car lead on me.

I want to run him again as we didnt get it on video this time, and also the car feels a little better with the charge pipes installed. I really think he would have gotten me by a little more but i was beating him on the shifts.

Either way it was fun and hopefully i can throw up the rematch video soon. Maybe by then ill have a lil something for him.

Good stuff ford. I have run with a fully bolted/tuned LS6 on my 91 octane tune. Maybe I would have beat him on my ethanol tune.

Am I the only one around here that sees a problem with this? That CTS-V should be trapping 120+ easily.

regarless, anything can happen on the street, good race!

OP said he was out shifting the CTS-V

Should have been another car or so worse than it was.

Plus the CTS-V is 40% heavier. So it needs a lot of power to stay with the OP.

Depending on the tires and mod stuff, a balt with a really good drive can get fairly close to 120. I don't see a huge issue with the run. I kept up with a supercharged mustang for a few runs.

Exactly, we anticipated the car to be a 119-121 trap car. We all know the cobalt on a stock K04 isnt trapping that. I still ran him for fun and because i know he is having a little issues sticking gears. He got murdered by a heads/cam Z06 the other weekend cause he couldnt get into a gear.

I gave him **** about needing to race slower cars like my cobalt and he said lets do it. Unfortunately for our race he showed up with a new master cylinder but i was still getting him on the shifts pretty good. Like i said, he would have had quite a few more cars except i probably kept about 3-4 cars lengths difference just on shifting. He was pulling pretty good in between shifts.

We should have a rematch coming soon as no one showed up to the meet and we didnt have anyone to film. He is gonna strip it down to the paint for the race i think. But i have my cheater mod in the form of a 120lb scrawny ass friend i think ill take vs the normal camera guy who weighs 210. Weight mod ftw!

yeah, laser racer is out here in texas. He's an incredibly reputable tuner, and an overall great guy to hang with. If he's unavailable, you can ask jwhitten on here (actually you'd need to reach him at the GMOH forum).

OP, sounds like it was fun. Got any pics of that cts?

No, but i can take some. Its just a CTS-V with exhaust, other than the cam and blower you would assume its stock.
