Mazdaspeed6.....again......interstate rendezvous

*Cliff notes bottom of page*

Well the drive back from Texas to Iowa is a little lonely, I was cruisin' at about 75,...man these roads are empty at night...., I look into the rearview and I see these 2 cars comin fast, they go by doin' at least 100... counted to 5 looked for sirens, there were none so I accelerate.....cool,.. rabbits........ This should help me get home faster.

After about a couple of minutes I guess they notice I'm using them as rabbits and they begin to slow down. They're were probably doin' about 70. They stayed in the left lane and I had slowed to 75 again,....... I begin to pass the first car, silver ...... Mazda,...... Hatch, no badges that I could see...., probably a 3, I look over to the next car ....... black ..........., 4 door and a Speed6 badge, this ought to be fun.

When I got to his passenger door I saw 'im squat,.. I downshifted to 3rd and the race was on. Reeled that puppy in by the end of third, ......... by 120, just a little over a car. He slowed and I slowed and continued at 100. He played rabbit for a few miles I guess it's only fair so I played rabbit, as he waited for his buddy to catch up.

Well I guess the sound of the suprecharger must have disturbed my wifes nap, I feel an icy chill go up my spine as I look over at the passenger seat. Never wake the wife while she sleeps.

She looks over at the speedo, "Who are you following"

"nobody"

"SLOW DOWN!!"

I slow to 65 and soon the Speed6 is back and lined up to go. I begin to gesture for him to go when the wife asks "What are you doin??" Before I could answer he takes off and gets a good car and a half jump on me, I slam to 3rd and we're off again,......I could still feel a cold stare in the passengers seat as I hesitated going WOT, and when I do I hear both her and the dog growl. oh damn,.....I push my luck and take it to the end of 3rd with the 6 two cars ahead of me. I shut it down slowed to 75, he kept going. A little while later the 3 drives by, I restrain myself and behaved the rest of the way home.

There was an equal chill in the air that night, inside and out.....................

** ran a speed6 from a 75 roll I pulled about a car on him,...2nd time from 65 roll, with a pissed off wife and dog in the passenger seat...lost by 2 cars**

Mazda 3 is not a match for a Stage II in stock form, and the Mazdaspeed 6 is not very quick either.

Why does he need to secure his flame suit? I believe the Mazda 3 speed race.

you should have covered your body and your wife's body in gasoline before you raced them guys!

that really woulda been intense for her to wake up to!

"omg slow down! and why are we covered in gasoline!?"

peter griffin would prolly do that

racing with his sleeping wife and the family dog? People have been torn a new one just for racing on a public freeway or highway.

sorry for the lack of terminoligy knowledge, but is a "rabbit" when you just stay a ways back, speeding but letting the other cars be a sort of decoy for cops ahead?

Yep.... got it from dog racing.

To get the dogs to go around the track they use a mechanical "rabbit" which stays in front while the rest of the pack follows........ or gives chase

Entertaining story.

Shame on you....

Its one thing to street race (which is dumb in its own right)
But racing at those speeds with an unknowing passenger... and your dog????!?!?

Damn....

At least nothing bad came of it.
