Me vs 07 SI

Getting on to I80 today there was a 07 civic SI in font of me. I was behind him when we merged and as soon as we got on to the actual highway he floored it. I followed, flooring it at 50ish in second gearm I started 3/4 to one car behind. Half way threw 3rd I had caught up to even with him and going into 4th I had over a half car and was still pulling him pretty well. We shut down due traffic and then I saw a cop in the slow lane going very slow. I knew the cop didnt see us racing or clock us so I wasnt too worried. But as soon as we passed the cop he jumped in behind the civic and pulled him over. I assume it was for his front window tint, I hope I didnt get him busted.

I had the chance to race an 07 SI today, but I didn't. We were on city streets, didn't want to risk anything. I really wanted to race him though.

Nice kill.

lost! Come on...I drove the s%&* out of one of those Si's and couldn't get them to move anywhere. I was impressed on how solid the transmission felt...I was impressed with the feel but disappointed with the go.

Yea, I am almost positive he got pulled over for his window tint. I really dont think there is any way the cop could have seen us or clocked us. He was ahead of us traveling the same direction in front of a semi so I hope I didnt get the guy in any trouble. Here in IL if they want to be dicks that can tow your car have it put in the impound, take your license, and fine you something like 2,000$.

You are most likely right. When a cop witnesses a race, they tend to try and get both cars!

Do yourself a favour. if you are SS/Sc and a civic wants to race ask if he is forced induction. If he says "no" then it isn't worth it. if yes then good luck.

if you are SS and he says "no" then have fun.

Just why waste gas and put yourself in a potentially bad situation to blow a guy away? take the high road and use your finger and thumb to show the guy about half an inch and he will understand what you are measuring (if he is a jerk/ricer). If the guy is cool about it then just smile/nod and invite to the nearest drag strip.

i have def gave in and showed a few civic what the ss/sc is all about though.... I was also food for a turbo civic once.

From my understanding the new civic SI's are getting into the 14's stock. My stock SS/SC isnt alot faster than that.
