Raced my friends '08 SS/TC tonight. 1 from a dig, 2 from a 40mph roll.

Dig: He got off the line quicker and almost immediately started pulling on me, we went up to 120(or I did at least), he was about 3-4 car lengths ahead of me.

1st 40mph roll: He got a very small jump on me but I stayed with him for about a second or 2 then started pulling on me, went up to about 100 and he was about 3 lengths ahead.

2nd 40 mph: Same as the 1st until I missed 3rd, it was pretty much over after that.

We are both stock. My SS/SC has 16,3xx miles on it, his SS/TC has maybe like 500.

My first loss in this car. It was a good one though.

I wish we could've got in on video, but I forgot my camera, and noone else we know has a car that can keep up with us. Maybe next time.

im a little impressed......i thoguht you'd lose by more cars but good driver mods then...

 

If he has only 500 miles(or even less than 1000) then his ECM should still be in the "Break in" process so his car still isn't showing it's full potential. Sounds like they're quick.

 

here we go let the SS/SC bashing commence....

Yeah... his car isn't running full potential yet. I believe the LNF limits the car under 1000 or so miles.

Either way... you sucks!

thats about what i figured because they are rated about 3-5 tengths of a second off in the 1/4 mile.. so that sounds about right....

a video would have been nice but its still kool u posted about how long of a distance

im sure a stage 2 and stock tc will be a good race

 

IMO, stage 2 would get the SS/TC if he only pulled a couple cars on the OP and he's stock.

 

I can't wait to run into the first SS/TC that comes to the spots down here... Hopefully nobody tells him anything about my car and I can have some fun with him.

 

Time will tell... but I also think that the car the OP raced was limited due to it not having enough miles.

The real question is: Did your friend own an SS/SC before he bought his SS/TC? If not... he's on Driver's Mod version 1.0 Beta right now. You're in for trouble when he learns the car better.

i had the pleasure of running one last nite wasnt gonna do it because my intercooler pump intermittently works when it was but i pulled up at the car show and this guys had a sport tintcoat marroon one. we started talking and he asked what i had dont i said 2.8pulley 60's and some other goodies, he was like oh i ran one with the same mods and put like 10 cars on him so im like lets go. we get on the interstate and the 1st run my iat2 was at 140 i know not good he beeps i put 8 cars on him easy we went up to about 130 and i had to get out of it because my temp was almost 200. it was fun i didnt like the way they look in person and will keep my SS/SC plus that direct port injection tick is loud as hell i was parked next to him a lane over with my car running i have the vibrant header downpipe combo and gmp sport catback and still heard that blasted ticking with his hood DOWN mind you i like the car obviously. He was like you can order one down at our dealer here in VA. I said na i was gonna tell him i didnt want to downgrade but couldnt bash a fellow cobalt owner. I wanted to run a second time i thought about it bout my iat2 never came back down below 165 Dam intercooler pump i told him once thats fixed and i install my meth kit ill run him again

I think that you are full of ****. When my Intercooler Pump went out... my car was a DOG, ESPECIALLY once you got into 4th gear! As is every other SS/SC that loses their pump.

And if you are serious... and you did put 8 cars on him... then he couldn't drive worth a damn... plain and simple.

 

if you read the post ass hole you would see the first run my temps were at about 138 the computer dont pull timing till after 150. thats why i didnt run him a second time. no i can see what lsj is talking about. when my car is running right i pulled my buddies 2003 c5 vette and my boys 99 s281 supercharged saleen i could care less what you think thats why i said when i get the pump in and my meth i will run him again and slaughter him at that

 

A stage 2 lsj would be a very close race with a stock ss/tc IMO... Good races though, I bet he was still learning the car a little bit though. Next time you run though, get it on video.

will do wasnt at the show for two minutes and he was like oh i put ten cars on a ss/sc bla bla bla i wasnt planning on running my car but had to shut him up and forgot to say i even had my girl in the car and **** in my trunk he was nyhimself and is over 1000 mi so that the car aint at his potential is bs theyre nice cars but imo a slightly modded ss/sc will run even or even pull a stock ss/tc

I read the post ASS HAT. If the computer doesn't pull timing until after 150... then you would have been pulling some major timing. Plain and simple, the car turns into a dog once you lose the pump. I went from beating my friends STi by 5 to losing by 1 when my pump went out. So, as said before... I don't see you beating one by that many cars, unless he just plain sucked ass at driving.

Also, are you refilling your IC coolant?
