So as I wasmerging onto the highway today, in the right lane I see a 09/10 wrx. As he get besides me he wot as I'm merging.. I wot also but couldn't reel him in cause he had a good lead on me!!

So we I catch up to him and he pulls into the left lane and rolls down his window. I give him a hand sign for 3rd gear 60mph... he nods.

I honk 3 times and we go, its even for a split second..and I start to pull on him immediatly. We had to slow down due to traffic.. I barley hit 4th and he was a few lenghts behind.

He pulls up to me again, and drops down to 2nd and I stay in 3rd at 45 mph...he honks and has me for 1 second due to me being in 3rd gear, soon as the rpms get up I start to pull him again. I know if there was more room I would have just kept pulling him.

Now this was a 09/10 wrx had some mods from what I can see, lowerd, exhaust, perrin and cobb stickers.. sounded good..

How did I do?

 

Great job I love our cars just because of how under estimated they are i pulled on my buddies Sti cobb stage 2 tuned he was mad haha

Yea his is an 06 not a newer one the 2011's are nasty but I cant afford one thats why I drive a cobalt ha

 

I've raced a newer sedan from a roll. Are the 2011's faster? I pulled, but not as hard as I thought. I usually put busses on a stage 2.

 

Yeah same here I was like wtf.. I figured I would ROMP on one cause I romped on a 06 stage 2 sti. But I forgot it was o0/10/11 and those are pretty nasty cars!

 

I still pulled about a car an a half within 2 or 3 seconds

Yeah love when people under estimate the cobalts! My friends definitely did when I got mine and I showed em what its made of and they aren't so critical about the car anymore haha.

My buddies stage 2 sti only beat me by. 2 at the track. And that's only because I couldn't find 4th thanks to a bad pressure plate.

I raced a brand new sti sedan with broke ic pump... He just punched it and I Hung at his back bumper from 50 to around 125

 

i would say its a bit different

 

I know stock the track times are very similar for the new wrx's and sti's. Couldn't imagine it being THAT much faster.

 

lol stock for stock is not the point. not sure as far as the new ones. but the old wrx 5 speeds sucked.
