Ran into one on the messican highway tonight, got next to him and revved, and right away he downshifts and takes off. I put her in 3rd at 75 and he was a little over a car ahead when i hit it. By mid 4th I was at his rear door and was creeping up but the road was curving ahead so I shut it down and he kept going. Not sure if he was stock or not, but if we honked it off I would have been a car ahead or so, hate when I have to play catch up.

 

dont think they made 335i's in 05. pretty sure they came out in 07.

 

Tough to tell. Stock could be 280rwhp (13.3 1/4), full bolt-on mods, tuned, with meth would be 430whp (High 11 1/4) Would have been nice to know what he had done. Sounds like fun! Below is an example dyno run on a 335 with the variations in output depending on what you do to the car:

i raced my friends 335 and i got a horrible launch. pretty much gave him a car length head start...but by the time i hit 90 or so...i had a good car and a half in front of him. not bad for my 2.2....but i think his was a 2003 335...inline 6

 

The top 3 series (non M) in 2003 was a 330, the current 335 with the N54 twin turbo engine was not released until 2007 model year.

The 330 had 225HP and 214TQ stock

 

big difference between a 330 and a 335.

 

13.3's stock??? i dont believe that...i was thinking high(er) 13's...13.7-13.9's at best

 

were talking highest times. They are capable. awsome car to drive. Soooo smooth.

 

Nobody likes magazine times, but Edmunds - 13.3 at 105.9 and Auto Week 13.45 at 104.3
