me vs. z28
so today i decided to race my buddies 93 z28 camaro with full exhaust, intake, msd coil(290whp) we started from a 40 roll and went to 115. i held the lead until about 80-90 then he started taken over. he ended up beating me by two cars. shiften is what gave up the lead.(my clutch is just about done). stock he's a 14.4 in the quarter. right now he's probally about 13.7-8 but his tires are bald now. do you think i'd have a chance if we raced from a dig?

it sucks. because if i didn't have to shift i would of kept the lead. his gears are like a 3.40 cobalts are 4.50's i THINK. if not correct me as you wish. so he can pull a hell of alot longer then i can. but its all in the name of racing he's got 290 to the wheels i got a stock balt. so i guess i got lucky with 2 cars.

there ya go. i knew it was something like that. thanks for the correction
i dont kno. screw it i'll go for it anyway. worst comes to worst i'll lose. but theres no shame in losing to something with twice the power of your car. and twice the cylinders. atleast i'm not going after hondas

yeah by the time i get my 2.8/2.9 pulley he'll have his 383 that does 6.8 @ 112 in the 1/8th. but it would of been way closer if my clutch was perfect. but you cant count the "IF's" in racing. winning is winning and losing is losing. i'll have another shot at another one some day.

no. we did 3 rolls. left him behind everytime and 1 dig. launched hard but i pulled in front obviously. the wrx's mods:intake,exhaust,header,BOV.....my friend(z28) is a good driver dont get me wrong. but this is his first time really racing his car from a dig. he's launched and played around but hasnt raced.besides the roll we just did

The LT1 in the 93 z-28 camaro's are dogged engines. You have to do some considerable work to them to get them to gofast. Buuut, they are still pretty quick. Just dont race the LS1, especially in the top half (100+). You will get eaten alive.
