I was with one of my friends this afternoon just hangin out in front of a BK. when one of his friends calls and says he wants to come hang out too. So like 20 minutes later he shows up in a black Couger. My first thought was v6, high 16s no comp... So he starts makin comments about my car, he like the interior, and stuff like that. He asked me if it was quick, stupid small talk. So i asked him about his car, just because i was curious to see what he did to it. This is the list of stuff he "said" he had. Cold air, nitrous, forged pistons, he said he had a 3.5 liter and he boured it out to a 3.9, ngk spark plugs, Aluminum Flywheel, and a borla cat-back, but it was all scraped up from him bottoming out so u couldent tell. But i could, i know what borla looks like, and sounds like. It has a unique sound. SO i ask if i can look under the hood cause im a gearhead and i like that stuff. He wouldent let me, he said the latch was broken From so many races. HAHAHAHAHA

So he asked if i wanted to run him. So i was like, with all those modes it wount be a race. He just kept saying, naa it will be close, i only came down mabe a second and a half. WTF lol ok. So we line up on a local back road we always race at. My friend gives the sign and i beat him off the line, 2nd gear i had about a length. So i didnt have time to think about how he was a length behind then but with all those modes he shouldent have been. 3rd He was far enough back that it was over. the guy didnt even come back to hang out, he just kinda left quickly.

 

lol. why do people lie about mods? i never did that, ever.

was this one of the new style (FWD) Cougars? Stock they're actually about a mid 15 sec. car.

If he actually had some engine work done he'd swap in a 3L Duratec...a decent build is usually good for high 14's.

Anyway, man there are some serious ricers out there...why do people lie so much? its ridiculous...and then they get really worked up after a race and wont look at you/ricer flyby/go the other direction. I guess some people really take this stuff seriously.

 

Usually when they make it a point to mention that they have "performance sparkplugs" you can almost guarantee that they don't have most of the mods they say they do, with exception of the sparkplugs. That's like when someone tries to hook you up with an ugly girl, "Yeah she's cute, she's active, and she has a GREAT PERSONALITY", they mention the "great personality" part so that when you meet them, you can't accuse your friend of being a total liar.

 

3.5L Hahahha Yeaaah right. The biggest engine you could put in a 99-02 cougar was a 3.0L
