So my buddy and I decide to go to sacramento raceway from the bay area to do some drags allthough they had rains out there it was 10% at the track they decided to make it rained out. We shoulda asked for private runs haha but whatever:r:. On our way back home we decided to have fun on our 2hr drive and I only got this.Mustang GT -vs- Cobalt SS Turbo - YouTube

Nice run. What do you have done?

thedubsack85 10-26-2012 10:30 PM

I hope your stock... Cause he's heavier and has about the same #'s power wise which would mean from a roll you should have pulled atleast a car being lighter and FWD roll advantage!

it does 20psi, 7k redline and removed the learn down so basically still stock haha.

thedubsack85 10-27-2012 01:58 AM

7K redline is not stock.(6.3 is) Neither is a 20 PSI limit(as these produce any PSI capable to make 260HP/TQ in stock form) Your tuned and still could not pull on a car that has the same if not less HP but weighs more? Really? For the record my GMPPS2 IRL that would have maybe 240 WHP and less than that for TQ has pulled on an 07 Mustang GT(300Hp+) from a roll. Never raced him from a dig but still...

D330 10-27-2012 04:11 AM

have you ran an 02 cobra? The tune on this stang and 3.73 gearing nearly made it as fast as a cobra but kinda slugish as a bullit when it shifts.

thedubsack85 10-27-2012 04:30 AM

there is a difference in an 02 GT 2V and an 02 cobra as they did not even have an 02 cobra(from 02-03 there was no cobra) There is a huge difference in a 02 2V GT motor/trans and a 4V cobra/bullit motor Even N/A let alone gearing as there not the same that's why the bullit and N/A cobra had the same but the 2V did not but the bullit and cobra could pull allmost a second faster in the 1/4. Your tuned LNF should have put a car on that slow 2V Gt. I had a less powerfull Ion redline pull harder on a 305HP 07 stang GT from 60 three times in a row....

Kinda funny how you say sluggish shifts but the video shows quick shifting on the Gt's part....?

Vander Nars 10-27-2012 06:51 AM

congrats on the win we cant all be nascar drivers.

BoostedBeaner 10-27-2012 08:09 AM

Two mustang owners have recently declined racing me. One was pretending to be on his phone so he didn't have to run me lmao

"Mom, this cobalt just sneezed at me! What do I do?"

Pussies

Juat?

Although many believe there was no 2002 Cobra, there was a very small release. There were only about 100 vehicles built, and they were all shipped to Australia.

There was also an '03. It was the birth of the TERMINATOR!

03-04 cobras aint slow.

thedubsack85 10-27-2012 02:31 PM

Meant to say from that after 01, There was no cobra untill 03. Typo!

piratemosh666 10-27-2012 02:35 PM

^^Still not getting it. Cobra production started in '93. Built by SVT.

D330 10-27-2012 07:44 PM

well as you can see im not really into ford but all i know is this stang in my opinion performance wise is a tier below a cobra and faster than whatever tier is above a bullit and i think mach 1's are slower than bullit's but whatever. Also this is the fastest 2v i have ever raced so i find it rare that performance wise a 2v can nearly be equal to a cobra with enough money droped into it.

Dart_SI 10-27-2012 08:04 PM

theres an 01 cobra. Its like a 2v gt, except with basically the equivalent of the 3v engine in there, and its a lot faster than a 2v GT stock for stock. I think its as fast as a mach one or faster. No blower.

99-04 GT
260 hp (194 kW) @ 5250 rpm
302 ft·lbf (409 N·m) of torque @ 4000 rpm

1999 & 2001 Cobra
320 hp (239 kW) @ 6000 rpm
317 ft·lbf (429 N·m) of torque @ 4750 rpm

2001 Bullit
265 hp (198 kW) (Bullitt)

2000 Cobra R
385 hp

this is what I found on the wiki page.

ampzor350 10-27-2012 11:03 PM

My old 2000 h/c camaro used to beat up on bolt on termi's:)

I ran into a whippled one once and that was the best race I've had against a cobra.

Exactly

Dart_SI 10-28-2012 01:25 AM

Theres a cobra locally i see all the time but never had the chance to race. I want that kill. lol.

SSBalt 10-28-2012 02:31 AM

Anything is possible, but dubsacks got a point. I would check your car to make sure its in tip top form. What tune are you running? One car is being polite, it should have been more. Btw 3.73's aren't going to net you any advantage on the highway.
