im sure i will get flamed by non believers.....but i swear on everything good in my life this is true...

yesterday i raced a mustang svt....

i was on my way home from work i was on dixie hwy at davisburg road, for those of you who live in michigan...

i had seen this guy at white lake road in clarkston...we sort of traveled down dixie hwy next to each other....

he got to the red light at davisburg road before me....i stopped he was in left lane i was in right ....

he revved twice and when the light turned he took off...so did i...he had me at the dig...i kept on it! i gained and pulled on him..not by much though, at this point i was all ready scared shitless!!!

i kept on it and kept gaining...by the time i hit fifth and kept going and won this race i was going around 130mph...

i never looked at anything but the road...and when i realized it was over and i had one my first real race ...i was scared ...nervous and shaking like no other!!!

he drove by me after i slowed down and was shaking his head..i gave him a thumbs up and he did the same....

again for those of you who know the area he turned into the trailer park off dixie hwy...
he had dark hair and his car was a darker silver/grey....

i dont now much about mustangs to tell you the year and all that but i do know that it said svt on the back....i saw that when we were around white lake road

again this is the gods truth!! im not saying i beat this guy by car lengths, im sure it was more like feet ...until he backed down... and i guess that would make me the winner!!

my car is worth every penny im paying for it!!! i never expected to win i just wanted to try!!

again i dont know much about mustangs...but the tails were the kind that leaned to the left and right in a set of three bars....

 

Well if it was an "SVT" Cobra and from your description of the tail lights it had to be the last gen Mustang.... So those Cobras had like what 360hp stock supercharged? Not bad... And It prob wasn't stock either...

 

lol. well the 98 and back's tails are kinda rounded, but theres still three bars. the 99-05 are more squared off, like 3 slanted rectangles. and im hopin you know what the newest gen cobras would look like lol

Nope, the 99/01 were over rated 320hp.00 was the Cobra R with a N/A 4V 5.4L 385hp.03-04 was the supercharged Cobra with 390hp.

Well they only had SVT Cobras....
Haha minus the Focus and whatnot
The early SN95 Cobra had 305bhp for the 4.6L.The "5.0" 4.9L Cobra had 240bhp.

 

it was like crack i tell ya...i wanted to race everyone after this..old ladies...kids on bikes any one...

i would really like to go to milan drag way and get some official times and all that good stuff....

like i said im not a mustang person the image results said svt and most did say cobra some did not

 

SVT only ever badged the Cobra. SVT never badged any mustang that wasnt a Cobra. if it looks like the one you have pictured above, that is a 96-98 305hp DOHC 4.6 5M. Good Kill.

 

Nice win, **** I know how you feel, but most of the time its the driver mod and the drivers who cant drive lol.

 

I didn't know there was that much of a difference between the 99/01's and the 03-04's...
I too don't know a whole lot about Mustangs bc I really don't care for them...

But yeah I did know what the Cobra R had.

Sounds like it was an earlier year (last gen) Cobra then?

I got hold of one of the 5.0L Cobras one night going down a dark highway. She was riding my ass, revving etc. It was a two lane highway. Go ahead and pass me..ok? Nah. Not good enough for the girl driving the Cobra. Waved her around to the passing lane... Heard the Cobra groan..

I repeatedly pulled her hard from 60, taunted her, waving her to come on, pulled her again etc.

Did this about 5 times. She was pissed.

Got a hold of a 03 Cobra one morning on the way to work. Saw him coming fast in my rear view. Guy had so much power from a 60 roll that he lost like the devil. I taunted him too as well. He was severely angy when he reached his turn off. Power is no good if you can't put it down

 

To the OP that is a totally beliveable race if it was a 96-98 Cobra. Those cars made 305/300 and ran high 13s. Now if you said you raced an 03-04 Cobra or a 07+ Shelby there might have been a problem. LOL

An 03/04 would have smoked him in stock form and modded would be even worse.

 

Yeah, based on your description, it sounds more like an '01 Cobra.

Slanted taillights, and the only dark silver Cobra (other than an '03-'04 Terminator) would be an '01.

 

It was a 96-98 Cobra... Those run about the same a new GT...
