Neighbor wants to race!

So my neighbor who I never talk to comes up to me today asking about my car. Now he is a much older guy, in his 40's so to him these cars are "gay". He owns a 97 mustang gt (5-speed) and wants to give me a run next week. He isn't stock, has x-pipe, borla exhaust, intake, chip, headers, and some other ****. (Not too up to date with mustangs) Anyways he is talking all this ****, and I was wondering if I had a chance against him. His car sounds mean as ****, it’s not turbo or anything but still.... By the time we run I should have my Fujita intake, but that’s all. So... do I have a chance?

you have no chance wit just an intake...plus hes an older guy so i'll just sterotype him and say he knows how to drive his car...

the race would be a waste of gas after you shift into second....

get S2 and a smaller pullet and other bolt ons like said earlier. its just a walk in the park for the GT.

I'm 41 I don't think they are "Gay", Like stated above you need a few more Mods!

they're running like 14.1 @ 98 with those mods. from a roll it should be dead even.

cut and paste this to view:

depends on what the other **** is, but i dont think he's out of reach in a roll race. you gotta keep in mind how incredibly slow they are stock. thats not a real big mods list though.

If he has upgraded PI H/C/I then he should be pretty quick. The PI H/C/I is whats in the 99-04 GTs and thats is a pretty popular and fairly cheap mod to do on those cars. They make more power with just that than a stock 99-04 because they have a higher CR. Add that to a full exhaust, gears, CAI, and tune it should be a solid 13sec car.

i was just about to post that. Unless he has a PI swap, it should be pretty close as is.

Wow... WEIRD.

All the Cobalt guys are saying it'll be tough or that the Cobalt will probably lose, and the Mustang guys are saying the Cobalt has a good chance.

Hell has frozen over

I would definitely say get stage 2 on there, and the race would be a lot closer.

Get a GTO and have it supercharged and don't let him know about it until the day of the race.....
