lol Had a guy in a new Maxima yesterday. I was on my way to the bar to go shoot some pool when he was in front of me when we both got up to a slow car. I was going to go around him but he took off in front of me so I followed . I was on his ass instantly so then I pulled up next to him and he tried to just take off. Well I was in 2nd so I just hit it and I pull ahead at least 5 cars by the time I ring out 2nd. Then he pulls up next to me and says "you do realize this is a 6 and that's a 4 right?" I laughed and said "Then why am I faster?" Then I said "why don't you hit the gas and find out again?" So he did and I let him get about a half a car in front of me before I hit it in 2nd again and he was about 3 or 4 cars back when I hit 3rd. Then he rode my ass for a bit and when I turned I gave him a thumbs down. I mean don't sit there and talk **** after you just got beat lol. Sorry no vid my Go Pro is missing a piece to the mount.

 

They make maximas so asshats have something to drive.

The Maxima is supposed to be nissans "4 door sports car" aka "4DSC" but it is a complete joke. Only comes with CVT and it's just an Altima with stiffer suspension and nicer interior.

 

The Maxima has been around WAY longer than the Altima, its more like the 3.5 SE Altima uses the VQ35 from the Maxima.

The Maxima is Nissan's top of the line sedan, as the name would indicate It has been marketed as the family mans sports car. They are quick for their size. The new ones are 0-60 in about 6.0 flat, (depends on the review, I went with the average number), with a 14.5 1/4 mile time which isn't bad for its size. Is it a sports car? No obviously not but it is quick nonetheless.

The CVT I can't say anything about, I've never driven one however reviews seem to be positive for it, though I'm sure I'd rather have a stick.

OP, I wouldn't expect it to beat a modded Cobalt SS at all. You however did run across a douche, it happens.

 

lol Apparently I'm a douche magnet!! I was just driving down the street and I was going into this tunnel that I go through. Well IDK about everyone else but in a tunnel I almost always gun it lol. So I was in 3rd and I just hit it and I guess I got the attention of some shitty looking jeep wrangler. He pulled up next to me with a thumbs up then turned it upsidedown. So I said "oh yea? Then go" and I pointed. I was just in 3rd mind you at like 35mph and he hit it lol. I just waiting a sec and hit it in 3rd and flew past him. The look on his face was priceless because I slowed down and said "what now?" and he had the audacity to say "your girlfriends car is slow" Then swerved in my lane pretending to hit me and his wife(I'm assuming because it said "just married" on the back window lol) screamed "stop!" lol. Then I just flipped him off and he dropped back and made a uturn.

 

Your luck is like mine. The only things that try and race me are rednecks in trucks. Though the funniest one was a Jeep Comanche, that was pretty funny. That's only in the 350Z, if I'm in the 300ZX hardly anyone screws with me, its no fun!

 

Every newer Altima or Maxima driver is a douche bag. I have not seen one actually going the speed limit, they all floor it and are flying down the highway riding people's asses. They're so painfully slow too, I don't get it

lol its funny that you say that because again I run into a douche just after I posted that. It was a guy in a F350 truck. Surprisingly it was pretty quick. Must have been chiped with exhaust because it was blowing the black smoke everywhere lol. Well he was behind me and I could tell he wanted some. So just to see what he had when I had room I just floored it and he stayed pretty good behind me. Actually it probably would have been a pretty good race to tell you the truth. So I slowed down to let him get next to me, but when he pulled around me he just floored it about 2 cars back of me or so. So I had no time to react and there were other cars ahead so I just let him go. Then I tried to pull up next to him to actually get a good race but he would take off when I would be about 5 cars back or so. Then he just turned out of nowhere. I don't know why he did that? would have been a good race I think.

Maximas lol. A lot of maxima and Altima 3.5 owners actually believe their car is fast.

 

Everywhere i have been the maxima drivers are middle aged - old, docile people. If they wanted to buy something fast these same people could afford a 5.0, camaro and numerous other fast cars as well. I think what your encountering is kids who just got their licence borrowing their parents cars.

I've driven a 2010 maxima as a company car in the past extensively, it's definitely not fast, but its not supposed to be either..

The lifted trucks that try to roll coal past me, **** me off. Every ****** time thats what they try to do to any car with its windows down. Cant enjoy the nice air because the ******* take advantage of someone just trying to cruise.

I had that almost happen to me a few times. The last time I heard it before I saw it and started to hit the gas but the light ahead turned red so the asshat let off and we were both at a light, it was alittle dipshit in a beat up rust bucket truck, I did see the black smoke in my rear view mirror before we got to the light so I know what his little game is. I floored it and pulled so easily I only needed to be partial throttle to out accelerate him, then I boxed his ass in behind an old couple in a oldsmobile that were driving 10 mph under the speed limit. So I just did the same right next to them with this little ***** stuck behind us lol.

 

Hell yea I almost beat an old mans ass a few months back because he thought it was funny to blow all that black smoke into my ******* car. I pulled in front of him and stopped completely and he swerved around me.
