Not here to start a war or anything but the money that pays for the car supports the other country. Thats why gm is hurting. Putting poeple like my dad who had 34 years as an engineer into early retirement with no choice.

MY MODS:
Custom tuning (HP Tuners)
2.5" pulley
GMPP Manifold
Race pipe (no cat)
Corsa Touring Cat-back
Spec 3+ Clutch
Fidenza Flywheel
Zex Hyperformance Plugs
60lb/hr Injectors
Drag bags
JBP CAB's
My car has the same mods as Rob, Dan, Enufpower, and everyone else that's trapping 108+mph-even though I don't have updated track times. Sorry, but new GT's at my track only run high 13's at best. It's heavier, with probably less horsepower. It's rated for 300hp, and weighs like ~3500 ish lbs with NO driver. Assuming a 270+whp from mine means roughly ~310 flywheel horsepower, and my car weighs 3065lbs with me in it. It's power to weight ratio guys.

The new mustang gt's really aren't that impressive at all for what they could be. The 300hp they are rated at is at the flywheel and not the wheels according to Ford. I was also told by a ford salesman that the '92 era of the mustang would woop on the new gt's so....
I actually played around with one also that had a temp tag hanging from it but it was a young kid that really didn't know how to drive it yet. And I don't have a SC, my SS is the 2.4....

I call BS on redssbalt there is no way a 92 GT mustang can keep up with a new one, no contest! On another note I do have respect for all american muscle but the new mustang kinda lacks in the power for me, the camaro has been gone for over 4yrs and still ford has yet to touch the power output of a 2002 camaro dont get it???
I know the most untrusted person at a dealership is the salesman but I thought it odd that he would tell someone to stick with the '92 GT they currently have instead of trying to sell them a new GT.

Supposedly it's in the gearing and the horsepower...They rate the horsepower at the motor now and not the wheels anymore...
hahahahammmmmmk.
to the guy that posted that, Im not laughing at you, just the fact that someone (the salesman) could utter those words out of his mouth.
salesmen are a means to an end. They have to do the paperwork so you get your car. Sure there are some smart ones out there, even some who are performance freaks, but generally speaking they can be some of the most uneducated people on the planet when it comes to a cars performance.
you take a stock 05+ GT, put it againts ANY stock Fox body GT, and the 05 wins every time.
oh yeah, Ford didnt need 350+hp to beat the Camaro where it matters most (to them anyway). Therefore, why dump more money into making a more powerful engine when you're already outselling them? Not making excuses for them cuz God knows I want to see a 425hp 5.0 Cammer in every GT, but thats one of the main reasons they havent bothered with big power in the GT's.

I didn't take it that you were laughing at me..I thought it was kinda funny when I heard it as well. I am not into Mustangs obviously or I'd have one. But the Friend with the '92 was seriously thinking about trading his for a new one until the salesman told him he'd be better off keeping his.

Depends on what your friend really wants. The Fox bodies were great cars in their own right. Lightweight and cheap to mod, can be made into an awesome drag car too. The new GT's are heavier, more expensive to mod, but also have 13 years of engineering improvements on the Fox's.

Too many make the misconception that their car is faster when they havent raced the other car from a dig thats all. You also must have a factory freak, which is good for you. Because most ss's stock run mid-high 14's and mid-low 14's with stage 2.
Just to clarify, I don't have that "misconception" like you say. I would've raced from a dig as well, he wouldn't even wait to line up. I would love to race one at the track.
