Nice kill tonight

So tonight as I was heading back from the GF's, a buddy of mine asks me if I wanted to race one of his buddies. I accepted, of course. His car is a 96 Mustang GT that's cammed out, has shorty headers with cut-out, some ignition and fuel mods, and a couple other things. I was pretty sure he was gonna take me. But low and behold! I took him EVERYTIME! It was crazy fun. Buddy has vids. I'll have to get them from him.

That's not surprising if you're modded. 96's aren't that fast.

I was taking him by a few cars each time. I let off at or under 80 MPH each time cuz we were scared the cops were gonna flock us.

Intake and exhaust on an ss/sc. I don't think it was cammed out then like you said. Maybe he's bsing you because with his mods he should take your stock ss/sc with ease. But good kill anyways

He would've put endless freight trains on a stock GT with that motor. A mild N/A cam sounds dead on.

There's a new 5.0 now...you have to specify. New=you're going down Old=he's going down.
If the VR4 is stock it should be a good race.

You'll never get that much.

Theres a 600+ HP Kenne Bell Cobra setting at High End Auto that they only want 17k for and it only has 23k miles.

Your cars modded, its not worth that much haha

If it was stock you'd easily get 23k for it though

That Cobra's a steal at that price depending on the condition of the car. I wasn't throwing out a serious price either, I couldn't let go of this car. If I were actually selling it I wouldn't let go for less then 22k and that's cheaper then most other Cobras out there with similar mods and in good condition.

People who are letting go of these cars for under 20k are stupid plain and simple. No dealer in my area would let one go for less then 18k stock with less then 100k miles. You can say that the older the car gets the more it loses value all you want but 03/04 cobras aren't just any car. Same as the 2jz Supras, 93 Cobras, ect... Both of those cars came up in value about 10 years after the model year and I bet 03/04 Cobras will do the same.

Oh ya, I also have all stock parts for my car minus the wheels.

Alright I know this thread has run its course, but I finally figured out the exact year of the mustang i raced. It is a '94 Mustang GT with the 5.0 in it. And he is cammed out, fuel mods, ignition mods, and has shorty headers with electric cutouts as stated before. Still gotta get my buddy to upload the vids.

yeah, ive always considered the Terminators to be the domestic version of the Supra. soooo much power for so little dinero. ive seen bone stock Supras with low miles go for over 30k. thats almost as much as the cost new.

I remember, probably in 2008 IIRC, somebody on the mustang forums sold his 97 supra with like 10k original miles for over $45k. It was, for all intents and purposes, brand new.

What's up fellow MN'er! If you're ever in the cities I would love to line up with your SS/SC! It would be a good run between my car and yours.

BTW, if that guy with the VR4 has much of anything done to it, it will take you fairly handily. My buddy from the USAF has one and all he's done is add a DIY wastegate actuator to increase boost, injectors, tune it himself, and he absolutely destroyed a SS/SC while I was in the car with him. I'm guessing he traps about 110-115.

That mustang probably just had an exhaust cause If he really had all those mod's including cam's?? All you would have seen was the back of his bumper maybe some smoke too cause of the extra fuel but good job though!
