Ouch...

I just got abused twice by a guy in a chevy pickup. Had a friend with me I haven't seen in a long time. We were stopped at a light and he's asking me how fast my car is, when this guy pulls up beside us in a chevy half-ton. I knew the " Is that the supercharged one?" question was coming as soon as he looked at me, I hear it at least twice a day. I tell him no, and he says "Yeah, I'm trying to get my wife to get one like that. She has a cavalier and I want her to get a cobalt. I put an 'SKS' in this thing." I'm thinking "What would an assault rifle have to do with cars?" as he revved at me. I dropped in L and launched hard and put about a car on him. My joy was short-lived, however. When I pushed it into third he had 5 trucks on me and was pulling hard. I made a u-turn to go back to the Sonic I passed and he turned around and got beside me. Second time we went from about a 15mph roll with him putting 5 or 6 trucks on me before I hit 50. Now i need help making a decision. Hahn turbo kit for the balt, or pull the rx 7 out of storage and drop in the 20b?

this is funny because i got pulled on by a silverado the other night lol. i was cruising in fourth low rpms on the highway all aone lol and this silverado with exhaust and who knows what else started inching beside me not passing me so i moved forward not fast then he did, so i did it again and then him then i here him floor it and it downshifts and he goes passed me i get on it forgetting im in fourth and low rpms so i tryed to dwonshift fast but he was already past me. so i was playing catch up and i caught p to him and got on his bumper at like 120. i got beside him when we hit trafffic and he looked like an older guy lol. now i dont street race but i had to try to play around lol. guy was cool as hell i looked up and he had a smile on his face as i did but he waved i waved back lol but the truck moved pretty damn good

rx7!!! i had an 87 turbo 2 rx7 and that ran prettty good. get it out and running they can be fast if done right.not a rotory fan but i liked the car when i had it

There's a Dodge Cummins diesel just went to our local dyno and with bascially just a chip and some simple intake mod laid down 500rwhp and 900lb-ft torque...crazy!

I know diesel's can be fast but my 5.3 is no slouch either. From a dig it sucks because of abuse management but from a roll it's pretty quick.

I think i'm just going to buy a predator for it. Get rid of that and add a little MPG.

Funny how my 6.0 400hp GTO can get 30mpg and my 5.3 315hp Silverado with cylinder deactivation can't get better than 20mpg.

^^your silverado is a considerable amount more weight to chug along at cruise control, man. harder working engine means worse gas mileage.

to the OP; no shame in your story, you got worked by a turboed half ton, trucks can be pretty quick...especially when you are only driving a mid 15-16 second car, best.

I could drive the damn thing down hill both ways and it still sucks.

It's odd just like the fact that DOD in the tiny LS4 still only nets 26mpg.

Maybe the SKS is so that if you are beating him, he puts 154 grains into each of your rear tires. lol
