Pontiac G5 vs Pontiac GTP?

I was wondering what it would take to have my 2007 Pontiac g5 (2.2) beat my freinds 2001 GTP...

Now at first I thought he would win by a long shot... but then I rethought it and I think I may be able to beat him...

Curb weight of a GTP is about 500lbs heavier than the curb weight of a G5... So I just wanna know if I even stand a chance against him...

His GTP is %100 stock, and even though its supercharged he still puts 87 ethanol in there...

My g5 (as it stands), has and Injen CAI, ZZP midlength Header/DP, and sportlines(not that I think this would change much).

I have a feeling he'd be able to beat me as of now, but with a 2.4 intake manifold, tb, a tune, and an exhaust would I be able to beat him? This has been a heated argument between us lol...

^^ Haha he speaks the truth good luck though. When I had my GTP I wouldnt even waste my time on cars like that and all I had was smaller pulley, intake, one step cooler plugs and a low temp thermostat. The thing would spin all the way up to 45-50 and finally catch traction but I bet while I was spinning I would still be in front of you. Sorry just slap some boost on it!

2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP only has about 198whp from what I've looked up.... Plus I drive with him all the time, and even if he floors it he doesnt spin past 10mph....

I'm lost... its not that powerfull of a car lol

I'm not calling BS, but his GTP is not much faster than my g5....could that fact that he is running 87 and has a oil leak/burning oil make him this slow?

It's not about the power.
That GTP makes more torque in stock form than many ecotecs do modded.

The bottom line is that despite the fact that it's a heavier car, it makes more power, and more torque... therefore you will lose. If you don't believe us, go a head and race.... find out for yourself.

Yes of course this will make him slower running regular in a premium fed car is not a good idea and the fact that he is burning oil means his cars seen better days.

GTP while rated at 280lbs of torque is a tad bit conservative. Stockers usually put down over 300lbs of torque off idle.
