Raced a few Mustangs recently...

The first race was with an older 93 mustang 5.0 liter. I seen him drving down the street while I was turning right. So I figured I'd catch up to him and see how it went. He seen me coming up in his mirror, so when I was about a car length behind he punched it, for all of 2nd we were pretty much equal. 3rd I was pulling on him and was about to pass him as I shifted into fourth but we had to shut it down. Good race though, that was two weeks ago.

I found him again today and we decided to do a few runs. The first one I had a decent launch, still too much spinning. I was around 2 car lengths ahead of him in the 1/4 mile.

The second one I had an even worse launch and he was ahead of me for 1st, 2nd gear, and I was just about to pass him at the end of third...but he beat me by less then half a car length. It was real close.

So we do one more, and again, my launch was blah. A little bit better this time then the last and it was another close one, this time I edged him out. Overall, was very close.

The other night I was driving home, this guy was right on my ass. So as I went around the corner to where there is a long stretch of straightaway I slowed down for him. He was drving a beefy sounding 95 Mustang. He caught up, gave me the nod...we were rolling around 35mph. It was bad, I was many car lengths ahead by the end of the third. At the light we stopped, apparantly his engine just got rebuilt too. We went again from a dig this time, a little closer from launch, but 2nd and 3rd pulled on him. Was fun

The last Mustang was a newer one. A stock 04, they're pushing around 290hp or so. We ended up going from a roll in 1st gear, we both basically had zero spin and we were dead even through 1st, but 2nd I edged up a bit...never got to pass 130km though, people in front of us. He gave me the thumbs up and we went our seperate ways :P

Wolfman.....An SS would RAPE a v6 mustang. The V8 GT is a very good match for us. I've raced two, and one I beat, the other was pretty much even all the way. I used to own a V6 mustang, and have been a Ford guy forever, so i know how these cars run. I believe these were definitely GT's he raced.
