i dont believe it and no matter what u say will it change my mind i drove both cars and i feel that the type-s has more get up and go, im not talking **** about the si (did you not read the part where i said i almost bought one) quite frankly i trust honda motors more then chevy ford ect they are far more reliable, im just saying from what i have experienced with the si there is no way in hell its faster then the type-s and dont think i am sayign this just to back up my fiances car because i dont even care about it as a matter of fact its getting sold in a few days and were going to chicago to pick up a 2003 black evo8 so i really dont think si's will be any problem then, lol honestly tho lets not argue lets just give opinions i hate starting threads that start arguments its soo annoying!

any car that runs high compression responds well to boost. The SI motor in the newer civics, throw in forced induction to a motor with 11.0:1 compression and it responds great to boost, but it wont take too much of it without beefing up the internals.

im bone stock and smack the living **** out of em, the tech who changed my oil has a 07 and even on bottle traps like 102. Nice tranny but gutless motor. On boost they last about as long as the XM radio trial.

You dont know what you're talking about, the RSX-S' and new Civic Si's are both high 14 second cars with good drivers and average around a 15 second flat. I think the fastest RSX-S and Civic Si stock are both 14.7.

Just so you know, the newer Si's and the RSX-S' have the same damn motor, and they weigh basically the same and the Si hits its peak torque sooner, so the Si in fact is not slower.

They actually have different engines.

The Si has drive by wire and lsd with closer ratio tranny

The Si i believe has ran better times.

Does having a drive by wire and LSD with a closer ratio tranny mean the cars have a different engine, or just different things about their drivetrain? Either way, what I was saying and already said is that the Si is not slower, which you just said it again for me.

Civic Si= k20z3
Type-S= k20z1 for 05 and 06 or k20a2 for 02-04

They have other differences. Redline, v-tec engagement, etc.

Ok, well either way I believe the Si is faster and a better car, which still my point holds, that the Si is not slower.

Nice kill for a fellow Des Moines member! Haven't had the chance to run against one yet, but doesn't sound like it'll be too tough.

If its built and tuned right then it will last. My buddy has had a boosted civic for about 4 years now and still runs strong. But then you will have some dumb ricer throw a turbo on a stock block and boost the **** out of it and blow it up in days

with the right tune those motors can last years...and boosting 10-12psi on the k20 is faster than most of the cars on this board. Im no honda fanboy...but give respect where its due...
